p.s. I see some comments about the vamo 1, or vamo 2. I don't think they are pertinent to the current conversation, as the vamo 3 is out folks. That's the one I got. Don't see why anyone would order an older model, as they seem to have updated the design to address the shortcomings of the older models, and at the same time add improvements. It's a no brainer people!

Not trying to hijack.. but the vamo v4 is also out... its the v2 body with the v3 software.. i guess a lot of people really did not like the ribbed design... Vamo v4 (v2 Body with v3 Guts) $39.59-44.09 | gotsmok.com (gotsmoke is just a daily deal tracker, like vapor joes)

Yeah this is true. I forgot all about researching the differences between the V4 and V3 before I bought mine. First off, the ribs, at least on the satin SS model, are, IMO, hardly noticeable, actually look quite nice, and perform a useful function of adding grip and tactile feel. Perhaps on the shiny models, and especially in pictures, they may look odd. I'm glad I decided on the satin SS one.

Secondly, because of the complaints vis-à-vis the looks, they gave up some improvements of the V3. The older V2 body did not have the removable top cap for instance. So, instead of keeping the improvements of the V3, and possibly even making it better, they simply chose to use the old body of the V2. That's going backwards folks, not forward.

The most important factor in deciding to get the V3 over the V4 however, WHERE IS IT? fasttech doesn't carry it. Some UK places have it, but most are out of stock. I simply couldn't find one to order, even if I wanted one, which I didn't. I see a few, very few, people have managed to obtain one. But I didn't want to wait around for weeks or months, I needed one NOW! Had to have it folks! lol.

I have no experience with the SVD so don't take this as a negative against it.

The Vamo was my first mod and the next logical step up from normal eGo batteries. I picked the Vamo simply because it was in stock at a local brick and mortal. I am not sure if I would have ever decided if I had to pick a mod from the Web only.

I like my Vamo. No complaints.

Again, no experience with the SVD so I can't compare one against the other.

I like my Vamo SO much though that I bought a couple of extra battery compartments (not kits, just the housings) since I have plenty of 18650 and 18350 batteries already.

I have the Vamo 2,have had it 2 months and am having problems with the threading. I do change tanks a lot,but to me this should not be an issue, they need to fix their threading problems. I got the Ego adapter, but it makes the draw too tight to use on my Texas Tuff tanks. It is nice and no problem with the function. I was looking at different devices for a back up,but have decided to pull the trigger,on a Provari. I know you said price is an issue and same here, but I have been off smokes 2.5 years, vaping is not a fad with me. I have used the Blu,Ego,now the Vamo,so time for a device I hope will last a long time. I have saved a fortune not smoking. I make my own juices,so I save a bundle there. I deserve a Provari:evil: :evil:Yes James you deserve a Provari.:angel:But james the cost.:evil:Do it James.:nun:Think of the cost:angel: :evil:Just do it you only live once and you do deserve it:evil: I'm so

I heard the talk about the threading too and that is why since day 1 I treated it with kid gloves and bought the ego adapter. When I first noticed an issue, was when I used a Vivi Nova. I do not use a torch wrench to put on my tanks, just a nice easy screw. If there are threading issues and there are, they need to address these issues,if they want my recommendation.

The vamo V5 is coming out now, it is the V2 body, with the V3 insides, but also with the removable top cap.

That sounds good. I'm just wondering when it will be readily available, since it seems even the V4 is hard to find. Alibaba is wholesale only.

I have the Vamo 3 in ss. Very happy with it. I didn't care about telescoping battery tubes since I like and always use an 18650 battery. Threading has not been experiencing any problems with the threading. Usually have a Protank 1 or 2 on it and I use the PT1 beauty ring for greater support and to keep from over tightening the PT on the Vamo.
