And I mean BRAND new. I had ordered the EGO-CE4S kit on fasttech last night with three 10mL bottles of Dekang liquid as well as about six samplers from ECBlends to get started. I had known about this forum for a little bit and finally decided to take the plunge and start kicking analogs.

I'm not what you'd consider a habitual smoker. I just happen to be in a job where a LOT of people smoke socially (military...go figure) and ended up taking in about a pack every two days. I've also had my fair share of cigars (preferred Acids) and hookah. When I was surprised with tickets to go to a concert down in San Diego, I learned that smoking analogs would be tough, but vapes were allowed and encouraged. So I finally decided to take a step forward, make the order, and see what comes of all of this.

Then it turned out my coworker had bought the same unit. EGO base, saturn clearomizer, and had two bottles of liquid (Lush Wet Strawberry and Liqua Grape). He didn't mind at all to let me use his unit until mine arrived since he hasn't quite come to care for vaping over smoking analogs. He and I both normally smoke Camel Menthol Silvers and, yes, I do LOVE my menthol.

So here's the juices that I have on order and will hopefully start getting soon:

10mL:
Dekang Minty
Dekang Minty Chocolate
Dekang GreenMint

5mL:
ECBlend Chocolate Chip Cookies
ECBlend Perilous Mint
ECBlend Dragon's Blood
ECBlend Dragon's Breath
ECBlend Pumpkin Spice Cappucino
ECBlend Choco Chai
ECBlend Apple Almond Crisp

At 9AM this morning, I cleared out his clearomizer and filled up with 1.2mL of the Liqua Grape. As of now, it's 11:30AM and I've gone through 0.4mL, had 1 analog, and can already tell this is going to be easier than I thought. I'm looking forward to receiving your guys' support and advice to finally get on the right and healthier track. Just need to make sure I don't get caught in the whirlwind of mass upgrades/mods like I have with my other hobbies of car audio, spearfishing, listening to vinyl, and traditional wetshaving. As of now, spearfishing is the only one I don't do any more (just try and get into the water here in L.A. and see anything...not going to happen).

Thanks! Now just need to think about what to do with this dang near 2 packs of Camels I just got... Figure I'll keep them in the desk and use as necessary.

BTW, does anyone who's a huge menthol fan such as myself have any recommendations? The cooler the better.

A great BIG WELCOME To ya! Just think? If this should turn out to be a hobby - then it's one
that can possibly turn out to save your life - and if the example is picked up on by a possible family
member or friend or two because of you who knows... maybe you will have served many in other ways.
Thanks for the service and example you are now sharing.
God bless!

Thank YOU sir. And it was actually my dad who had started vaping before I did, believe it or not. Retired Navy Seal and pack a day smoker for 40+ years who had turned to rolling his own to save money. If he can be a happy camper from it, I know I can as well.

I really like the looks of this community. Seems very supportive and I think I can fit in quite well here.

If you want an IN YOUR FACE menthol, straight menthol, I suggest Menthol Bite by Pure Vapes, or Arctic Wolf by Vaporgod. Not for the weak, I'm tellin ya. Seriously. And a great mixer if you want to add a touch to anything. A touch.

Good to know. How are they in terms of price?

Welcome!

As to your leftover cigs, that depends a lot on you. Some people do better just getting rid of them, others (me, at least) have a much easier time tapering down. I like to see vaping as a pleasure that I usually prefer to tobacco, rather than "the replacement I have to use".

FastTech is slow delivery (not their fault, its because of recent changes in the HK postal system). But I've liked the juices I've got from them, they are IMHO a tremendous value for the price (particularly the Hangsen Juicy Peach!!!). Their other stuff (heads, mods, etc) are also great prices. But you have to be patient these days, delivery will take weeks. Well worth the wait IMHO, particularly if you've got something to vape until it shows up.

If you're a menthol fan, look at buying menthol crystals online; 4-oz will pretty much set you up for life, and you can use them to enhance/mentholate pretty much any flavor you want.

Again, Welcome!

Thanks for the tip. I suppose I'm lucky, then, that I have a vape to use now whilst I wait. The concert is on the 25th, so if the estimate is WEEKS, then I have some serious waiting ahead of me. At least the ECB juices should be here considerably sooner. Status is already at "Awaiting Shipment" and I ordered late last night.

Pure Vapes starts at $8 for a 15ml bottle, or you can even get samples for like $2, but no nicotine. Any flavor you choose can be fully customized (except the samples), which is awesome. Vaporgod starts at about $3 for a 5ml I think. You can get bigger bottles from both. Both have VERY reasonable shipping.

I am new to the forum, but not so much to Vaping. Welcome to the great universe of e-cigs! I will start with a congratulations for making the decision to move away from traditional cigarettes! Having said that, the kit you bought is a GREAT place to start. You've skipped the older cigarette style models and went straight for the eGo. The only advice I will give you comes in the form of a recommendation. The CE4 clearomizers are good. Use them to your heart's content, but at some point in the near future, I would advise you to buy a bottom coil clearomizer, which houses the coil head and the wicks at the bottom of the tank. This ensures your juice is always being absorbed into the wicks rather than having to constantly turn your atomizer sideways to saturate your wicks.

You can pick up several models of BCCs for under $10, including two of the Kanger models: EVOD and T3S. I bought both of these a few weeks ago and they made all the difference in taste and the hits I was getting. That's not to say some other manufacturers wouldn't be good options. There are tons out there. I also had good luck with the Vision clearomizers as well. Happy Vaping and congrats once more. Welcome.

Welp, sounds like you're on your way. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is always have more. By that I mean more juice, and move delivery devices. More than one battery. New vapers tend to underestimate the amount of stuff they'll need. Always have more than one battery. Always have back ups for delivery devices (clearos can crack. Coils and cartos can die without warning). And ALWAYS have a lot of juice. That's the last thing you want to run out of, if you're going to be successful. Order how much you think you'll need, then order MORE! No such thing as too much juice.

It's funny you mentioned that since I had just been recommended the same when it comes time for replacement. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't stick with the CE4 clearomizer for long as it just looks like it's not that built to last. I was looking at the T3S specifically as well as the Kanger Mini ProTank. What are the pros and cons of each?

Lol well good news for me is the mall we're attached to has a vape kiosk that sells Liqua, so I could always pick up an emergency supply if necessary, but I will definitely keep that in mind. Next month, I will most likely order another 1300mAh battery or two just in case.

Welcome!! I use the CE4 type clearos and I throw them away after they go bad. These are a top wicking delivery system while the Protank is a bottom wicking. The plus with the Protank is it's glass. Some juices will melt some plastics due to the acids and it's not pretty having a tank meltdown. I like the top wicking clearos for thicker, sweeter juices. They seem to last longer as far as the coils not gunking up as quickly. Another plug with the Protanks is the coils can be rebuilt which saves on buying new heads all the time.

my favorite menthol is "Totally Wicked Gold Standard Flavor Concentrate ICE MENTHOL" one bottle goes a long way its a flavor concentrate with 0 nicotine. so just add it with other flavors. when you fill your tank up start with 1 or 2 drops of the ice menthol then fill it the rest of the way with your normal juice. if i find it works well with a flavor i add 5-8 drops per 10 mL bottle. ~happydave~

So, in your personal preference, you prefer the top coil? Interesting. I did like the concept of the Protank being glass, but don't necessarily want to be replacing coils as often. I suppose it's all a give and take.

I can see now how customizing a vape can be time and money-consuming lol! Perhaps I need to do my best to KISS and just learn to enjoy the ride...

like susan W. was saying some flavors will melt the BPA plastic that most of our tanks are made from. the borosilicate glass and steel the protank is made of is great way of getting around that and being able to vape any flavor on the planet. the flavors that contain "Esters" (the acid that breaks down the plastic) are almost always labeled as such. however if your not running a glass and metal (no plastic drip tips) setup its a good idea to stay away from banana flavors. do not freak out Esters are a very basic organic compound that occur naturally in all sorts of foods. Phosphoesters form the backbone of DNA molecules!
