like susan W. was saying some flavors will melt the BPA plastic that most of our tanks are made from. the borosilicate glass and steel the protank is made of is great way of getting around that and being able to vape any flavor on the planet. the flavors that contain "Esters" (the acid that breaks down the plastic) are almost always labeled as such. however if your not running a glass and metal setup its a good idea to stay away from banana flavors. do not freak out Esters are a very basic organic compound that occur naturally in all sorts of foods. Phosphoesters form the backbone of dna molecules!

Luckily, I'm not a banana fanatic, but I'll make sure to be aware of any flavors with Esters. Also seems like a smart idea for me maybe to pick up an EVOD and Protank together with a couple packs of coils on the next order (or see what the kiosk in the mall wants for them).

Thanks for the advice, guys, and keep it coming!

One thing to think of...

When I started back when and was using the top coil clearos. I found that I did not leave them standing up right all the time, they tended to get gurgley on me quick. As in laying them down on their side and so on. Not the end of the world to clear out of course but that forced me to the BBC design and I loved it. I have since long moved away from those on the hole. But I still use them when I know I will be out for a while and I do not want to worry about anything leaking or breaking down on me. Just cannot bet them for stone cold reliability... for me anyway. I also hear allot of folks saying that the coils die often..... Hum I have several stock heads and rebuilt heads that I have vaped a ton for over months now and they still working fine for me. At 6 bucks for 5 that is not very pricey at all IMO..

Good luck any how!!

well lots of things have Esters. its a specific one that reacts with BPA plastic. i have some of the reactive flavors in PET plastic bottles right now and it does not react with PET plastic at all.. you might see something like "not for use in plastic tanks" or something to that effect on the listing. that is what you should avoid, unless you are running it in a glass and metal setup.

i have heard good things about the EVOD Mall prices around here are outrageous $99 for an EGO T 2 replacement coils 2 spare tanks and a charger...

Wow that's outrageous. And I'll keep that in mind

Doesn't look like any of the flavors you got are "tank crackers". Cinnamon is another one that is known to melt plastic. I haven't had any issues with menthol or mints though.

Good because mint happens to be one of my favorite flavors.

This Liqua grape is starting to grow on me. And I've literally felt no urge to pick up let alone LOOK at an analog since I started this morning. That one Menthol Silver I had this morning is almost a distant memory.

I followed the advice from @Huckleberried and ordered a couple flavors from VaporGod including Arctic Wolf (Candy Cane was the other). Based on the concerns of shipping delay, I picked up another eGo set from DV that had the CE5 clearomizer. Plans after these get spent are to try out the T3s unit. Demoed a ProTank (not the Mini) and wasn't too impressed with it. Seemed like way more effort to take a drag for almost no smoke. May have been the way her VV unit was set, though.

I'm still a vaping noob, but by now have tried several liquids. I'm a fellow menthol/minty lover. Though I do have Arctic Wolf on it's way to my mailbox in the next day or so, I still keep going back to the original liquid I ordered when I bought my first eGo kit. And that is "Strong Mint" by Dekang. It's stronger than the usual menthol but retains some taste as well, though I do sometimes add a hint of honeydew into it. But SO FAR, that has been my juice I've kept re-ordering.

I'm excited to try Arctic Wolf though!

My Arctic Wolf came in today. I'll have plenty. Also upgraded the tank to an iSmoka BCC Mega with a 2.2ohm head. I have yet to sample any juices at my local place as tasty as the Elite Juice "Honey Don't," which is honeydew and menthol. Hopefully with all these flavors I've got now, I'll find a new favorite. We shall see.

Also, I allowed myself one analog each morning this work week to track how I was adjusting to tastes. By day three, I had zero interest in finishing a single cigarette. I predict by the time I go back to work and try another one, it'll be even less. I'm very surprised at how well and quickly this allowed me to kick a long-term habit.

And I mean BRAND new. I had ordered the EGO-CE4S kit on FastTech last night with three 10mL bottles of Dekang liquid as well as about six samplers from ECBlends to get started. I had known about this forum for a little bit and finally decided to take the plunge and start kicking analogs.

I'm not what you'd consider a habitual smoker. I just happen to be in a job where a LOT of people smoke socially (military...go figure) and ended up taking in about a pack every two days. I've also had my fair share of cigars (preferred Acids) and hookah. When I was surprised with tickets to go to a concert down in San Diego, I learned that smoking analogs would be tough, but vapes were allowed and encouraged. So I finally decided to take a step forward, make the order, and see what comes of all of this.

Then it turned out my coworker had bought the same unit. EGO base, saturn clearomizer, and had two bottles of liquid (Lush Wet Strawberry and Liqua Grape). He didn't mind at all to let me use his unit until mine arrived since he hasn't quite come to care for vaping over smoking analogs. He and I both normally smoke Camel Menthol Silvers and, yes, I do LOVE my menthol.

So here's the juices that I have on order and will hopefully start getting soon:

10mL:
Dekang Minty
Dekang Minty Chocolate
Dekang GreenMint

5mL:
ECBlend Chocolate Chip Cookies
ECBlend Perilous Mint
ECBlend Dragon's Blood
ECBlend Dragon's Breath
ECBlend Pumpkin Spice Cappucino
ECBlend Choco Chai
ECBlend Apple Almond Crisp

At 9AM this morning, I cleared out his clearomizer and filled up with 1.2mL of the Liqua Grape. As of now, it's 11:30AM and I've gone through 0.4mL, had 1 analog, and can already tell this is going to be easier than I thought. I'm looking forward to receiving your guys' support and advice to finally get on the right and healthier track. Just need to make sure I don't get caught in the whirlwind of mass upgrades/mods like I have with my other hobbies of car audio, spearfishing, listening to vinyl, and traditional wetshaving. As of now, spearfishing is the only one I don't do any more (just try and get into the water here in L.A. and see anything...not going to happen).

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Congratulations & Welcome to ECF.
Yeah, you're in trouble.. it will become a mind numbing, purse sucking Hobby... but you'll love most of it. :smokie:

I'm so glad I found this site. I've learned so much from reading your posts. I've been using e cigs for more than 3 years but not having the information that I got here, such as menthol crystals. I didn't know there was such a thing and I love strong menthol. I've wasted a lot of money trying different things to see what works best for me. Right now I'm using a 1300 spinner and a Kanger Pro Tank with menthol 24 mg liquid. I just switched to this tank and battery and am happy with it. Took me a long time to get to this point. I can't give enough praise to the e cig industry. I tried the pills and the patches, etc and couldn't quit smoking. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for MANY years (senior citizen). I haven't had an analog cigarette since July of 2010. Thanks to all of you for your valuable information. Gotta read some more now.

Thanks! Now just need to think about what to do with this dang near 2 packs of Camels I just got... Figure I'll keep them in the desk and use as necessary.

BTW, does anyone who's a huge menthol fan such as myself have any recommendations? The cooler the better.

Welcome! When you get to San Diego, try to hit one of the Vapure B&M. They have an excellent liquid strawberry mango freeze that is menthol. Very tasty! You can sample there before you buy as well.

Thanks for the heads up. Where in San Diego? I was born and raised there, so it's kinda like my backyard. I'll be back down there next weekend.

I will need to get a glass tank eventually. Didn't realize some of my menthols are tank busters (next time I need to do more research). Aside from the ProTank, anyone have a recommended task for these so-called task busters? Also can anyone confirm that Arctic Wolf is safe to use in a polycarb tank?
