could i maybe add a drip or two of the 0 nic juice to my 24mg menthol? or would that just throw things all out of wack

You may try doing it the opposite. I didn't mention that unflavored nic base is nearly free too (added bonus but plays no part in my reason to vape it). A liter is like $45 :)

If it helps you get to a flavor that you are not disgusted with, then yes it would be a good thing. It will dilute the nicotine ratio a small amout(if you only add a small amount) but not horribly so. Look at it like this the more 0nic you add, the less nic total will be in the liquid total..... if you want a calculator to tell you how many drops would do how much subtraction this is the one I prefer e-Liquid Calculator just plug in your suspected total quantity of liquid in the "amount to make" , put your 24mg as the nicotine "juice strength" and use the "add flavor" tab to put in your % of 0mg liquid to give you an idea of how much would be too much to make your strength unuseable...

Hi Jake :)

Most new vapors start off with tobacco flavored liquids... at least until you are completely off the analogs.

I personally use ECBlends and have been using them exclusively for over a year. I mix at 70pg/30vg and 24mg nic. I do not recommend cool hit in anything fruity. Don't give up... take advantage of the 5ml samples and try different flavors/blends till you find what you like. I happen to be a huge fan of Dragons Blood but it needs to steep for a couple weeks to reach it's best flavor. I do all my flavors in XF and I always do a 5 ml sample before buying a bigger bottle. Some of my favs are... Irish Cream, blueberry, peaches n cream, banana nut bread, apple pie, Coconut Banana Cream Pie, Eggnog.

I'm also a huge fan of the DIY feature and mix alot of my own juice. It's definitely trial and error... I've thrown many a bottle away... but after a while I found my tastebuds seem to prefer chocolate or fruit. And the end result was well worth it!! (I'd be happy to share some of my recipes with you, if you are interested PM me.)

I would also recommend getting a bottle of sweetener... you can find this in the SUPPLIES tab. That way if you get one that you think would be better if it was just a little sweeter, you can add a drop or two. And it is potent so just a drop or two will do ya ;)

gotVapes.com also has really good juices called FLUX and also offer a 6ml sample of most of their flavors.

As far as equipment goes.. my theory is the simpler, the better. I started out with the small 180mah cig look a like battery with pre filled cartos. After about 4 months I graduated to liquid and CE2's that worked on my 510 threaded cig like battery. I had extra chargers and a usb hub and kept 4 charging at all times. It was only a couple months ago that I upsized to an Ego battery. I love it and will never go back! 1100mah lasts me a day and a half. I've also started getting CE4's, CE5's, and dual coil tanks.

It's really all a matter of preference and what YOU are comfortable with. I feel having the cig look a like when I first started was a huge help to me... it felt natural. I've been analog free since March 1st, 2012.

I hope this helps!... There are lots of great folks here who are always willing to share their stories, advice, and what works for them.

Take Care and Good Luck!!!

Like the others said, you should steep your juices. Its the best way to get the most flavor and throat hit out of your it. It also removes any chemical taste. I have hated some of my juices at first, but after steeping them for about a week or two... they tasted amazing. Just remove the cap and the dripper, then store it in a dark, cool place where your children or pets cannot reach it. Let it sit for a day, then pop the cap and dripper on and let it sit in the same place for about a week. The flavor should improve after doing this... or the juice you bought is just crap. Note, this is my just method of steeping. Do what works for you. Hope this helped.

Vape on,
-Neenyo :vapor:

Hi Jake and welcome to the forum, don't give up it just takes a little time to figure out your likes and dislikes, I have learned the hard way to order only sample sizes of juices I haven't tried before. I also need to alternate my flavors, if I just vape one flavor for more than one day I start to not taste it. Sometime the PG/VG blend can make a difference, PG gives you throat hit but can be a little harsh or irritating and VG gives you tons of vapor. I personally like a 50/50 pg/vg blend. Drink plenty of water as vaping is dehydrating and hang in there!

So I started off about two weeks ago, i bought an american steel brand disposable (menthol), now that helped me not smoke analogs for about 5 hours til it died, so when my next pay check came i bought the bigger ego style with a clearo and some 24mg nic juice all made by a brand called criss cross, i cannot find their products anywhere online. So i highly enjoyed this and have no quit smoking for 6 days on it, today my mini vivi nova with 1.8 ohm heads came from myfreedomsmokes and some e-juices from ecblend (dragons blood w/cool hit, vanilla, strawberry, free sample of dragons tears) So i filled the mini vivi with dragons blood, purged it and waited a few minutes, then i vaped it expecting a juicy taste in my mouth, but ew i couldnt stand it, i actually vomited from it. so i thought maybe it was just the cool hit added to it, i rinsed the vivi out and switched the atomizer head, filled it with some strawberry, now thats not so bad but still not the "juicy" taste i was expecting. could this be my cheap batteries not producing enough to burn it right or is it just me expecting too much? for now i am back to the criss cross brand menthol at $10/15ml

Welcome,
I tried ECBlends when I first started and didn't care much for many of the flavors. Liberty flights and MBV are pretty good and fairly inexpensive. Good luck and keep with it, you will find several things you love to vape.

how exactly does the dripping work? like i said i have an ego style battery and a mini vivi nova which came with a drip tip on it, so what would i need to purchase to be able to just try a liquid and reuse multiple times, and how many different liquids can i put threw each atomizer or cartridge not sure how this all works which is why i went with the clearo it was an easier concept for me to grasp

Hi again Jake. I saw this video early on in my personal vaping journey. It gave me enough information to make the switch from a cartridge/atomizer setup directly to dripping only. Cartomizer - Cartridge - Drip Tip & The Difference - YouTube Yes the video is a little old, and yes so is the equipment, but if you google "510 dripping) you will get a whole host of results. So you just need a simple 510 atomizer and a drip tip, to get started. The atomizers when used everyday (when I only dripped) would typically last from 1-2months before they could not be cleaned/revived/recovered. Back then I was using about 3ml of liquid per day with an unregulated eGo clone and a Low Resistance(LR) atomizer. I have since moved on from direct dripping exclusively but I do test liquids with a few different atomizers that are getting to be over a year old without showing sings of needing to be replaced anytime soon.

With an atomizer there is very little to "hold" liquid so if you blow the old liquid out and rinse, blow out the water, they are ready to be loaded up with a few drops of a new flavor and will generally have very little flavor "overhang". I used to carry three different flavors at all times when I felt like changing just blow, drip new flavor and vape..... first draw usually had a little of the last flavor but quickly changed to the new flavor. The only flavors I ever had issues getting rid of where coffee based flavors, and cinnamon..... Hope that helps.

I've had a real tough time transitioning to the flavored juices and finding something that fills the void of smoking without tasting bad. The tobacco flavors haven't done too much for me either, they just can't really hit the nail on the head. There's always something not quite there. I have found cinnamon to be a good fit though. It has enough throat hit to satisfy my craving and it's not too sweet that it gets gross. Plus I'm a human air freshener haha. The one I've really been stuck on is the Mad Doctor's Formula cinnamon. It tastes just like an atomic fireball haha!

Hey Metalhead, If you like cinnamon(like I do)... take a look around the different vendors for a menthol/cinnamon...... I make my own liquids nowadays, but I was intrigued by someone who posted in a thread about a menthol/cinnamon liquid a long time ago. I had never tried a cinnamon until then, and was hooked immediately on my first draw.....

Do you recall who the supplier was that you picked that up from?

excited to say i am now perfectly fine with the same dragons blood that made me sick the first attempt, so all in all im still not sure what did it for me, steeping for a few days, getting used to flavored e-juice, or what but i do know i am happy, even with the cool hit that is ehh not the greatest, i can taste the greatness i have been told this dragon juice is. i will be looking into buying a 510 atomizer and drip tip so i can sample future flavors before filling my clearomizer, THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP AND ADVICE

I tend to not like fruits at all. Always tastes like cough syrup to me. (And yes, I've tried some highly recommended vendors.) There are a LOT of flavors out there - I personally like "pipe" like tobacco flavors and have recently been turned on to some tea flavors. Surprisingly I've found sweet cake flavors to be surprisingly good. Not my go-to vape, but my wife likes them and I occasionally find them very pleasant.

so i mixed in some vanilla with the menthol, kept adding til i got to what tasted good, about half and half is what i ended up at, im feeling like i might be able to move onto just vanilla now, the other flavors are still steeping and the girlfriend has been vaping the strawberry and loving it

A shot of menthol does wonders for most juices I dislike.

Hi Jake! Glad you are still sticking with it. You will quickly find out what flavors you tend to gravitate to. For me, it is the candy and fruity liquid, for others, tobacco. When I first started, I liked menthol. Now, not so much. The point is, only YOU can decide what you like. I know it is hard, and sometimes the descriptions of the various juices are even crazy. Just keep buying (samples or the smallest bottles you can get) until you find the types of juice you like. If you don't like something, let your GF have it, or put it away for a while. You may find in a month or so that you LOVE something that you previously thought was unvapeable and vise versa. Keep drinking lots of water and stay with it. You will be a "pro" in no time!
