Hello ECF, first time poster hoping to pick your vaping brains for a moment.

Just wanted to first off, thank the ECF community for all of the knowledge I have gained searching the forums since I quit smoking officially 9 months ago today thanks to vaping! That being said, I'm either not understanding the complexities of the electronic devices, or I just can't find the answers.

Some quick info:

I kept falling asleep on my ego twist 1000mah and I broke 3 in 2 months (breaking button connector out of the housing, severing the wire that connected to atomizer threading - using a DCT tank didnt help but I love em) - yes that sucks in the morning when looking for your morning nicotine on the night stand, but finding it under your pillow - as if the tooth fairy left you a nasty surprise.

I recently purchased a 18650 tube mod to replace my losses:
18650 Tube Mod - Steel - product reference, with a
Panasonic cgr18650ch - Panasonic Battery

I'm used to using 2 hole smoktech DCT 1.5-2.0 ohm cartomizers. I've struggled finding the right choice as some seem to sizzle more than others, that I understand varies by the +/- 0.3ohm rule of thumb so I do understand that. Still wish I could just have consistency - another topic for another day.

But having a new device like this larger tube mod has me concerned. I've read lots of battery threads. But nothing specific to my questions and I've bugged the supplier enough for the day. These batteries are not to be underestimated and I want to be educated.

Should I be screwing the negative side end with ground spring or the + end button connector? I had been doing button connector side but saw sparks when it slipped off threading while screwing it back on. I was already concerned because it shows the power connected blink before I start twisting much.

Just curious: I put battery in backwards by mistake, picked it up 20 seconds later and the button connector was so hot I couldn't get it off without a towel...I understand common sense says not to do that, but I've never seen that scary result from such a small mistake...maybe not small.

Oh, and I do not plan to sleep with this one :p

That is correct, if "top" is where button connector screws into. But I can twist either option off, but I didn't know which I should use to load battery.

I made a large list of mod's with high reviews as I wanted to jump into that soon, but when I broke my last ego twist, my budget wasn't available for what I intended. I was just trying to replace the twist at lower cost and stumbled on it.

Works better now that I understand it's vv with the button click. Trust me, paying attention to that fact will save you from a heart attack when your button changes to purple while casually vaping on highway, and it was blue for 2 days before.
