Hello, first time here, since I just today got my first vapor experience after having purchased a Evod BCC Clearomizer.

I got it going just fine, no complaints, but thought I'd ask one of those basic questions that might have been answered before, despite my not finding an answer for it.

I think I have the basic principle right, in how the kit works, with coils, wicks. Solely based on my own intuition, can't say I've found any vapor 101 basics film, but I haven't looked too hard either.

So first off, of all the kits I saw in the shop, most of them included two sets of battery, coils and so on. Is there an obvious rationale to this? Double flavors readilly available?, more battery juice? Reliability?

Secondly, even if I think I understand the mechanisms, how do I know when to replace the coil, with one of the 5 replacements that were included? What would be my cue?

I'll leave it at that, for now, and other than that, I'm Dennis, 42 from south east Sweden. :D

Hey there Dennis welcome! To answer your first question, alot of kits come with two batteries for a few reasons. It lets you have a backup so when the one you are using dies you can just switch them out real fast, I am assuming you are using an EGO so you can't charge those while using them sadly. It also allows you to share :D and the more you share the more peopel stop smoking right?

To the second question, you will know when to replace it. It will either get a burnt taste, or stop performing the way it used to. It might taste funny or continuously flood. Basically if the taste goes to hell, or it gives you lots of problems change it. A coil that is well maintaned can last a few weeks or more but a good rule of thumb is about 5-7 days.

Good luck with that evod and ego my friend! What kind of flavor juice are you using? Everyone I meet I always like to tell them that the juice is the most important part of the rig, it is what will keep you off the real cigs. Welcome again my friend!

Are there alot of vapors in sweden? Do you see people using the big crazy looking mods at all where you live? Always curious about other parts of the world, I live in the USA and take for granted our great vape scene sometimes

Welcome :) you are definitely in the right place to find out pretty much anything you might want to know about vaping.

Usually you want a minimum of two batteries, so that you use one while the other is charging, or god forbid one dies and needs to be replaced you won't be stuck without a vape.

Like tomsa34 said, you'll start to notice a drop in performance after a while with your atomizer heads. At that time you can try cleaning them, or just swap it out for a new one. Best of luck, and congratulations on making the switch to vaping.

Hello Dennis from South East Sweden! I have been to Southern Sweden (once) Lovely place!

First off: Welcome to ECF, you'll find loads of good info here (and plenty of opinions too!)

The primary reason for two batteries is in case one dies while you're out and about, that way you don't have to be left vapeless. also, while one is charging the other can be used to vape.

The Evod is a great starter kit, I am a big fan of Kangertech. I have several protanks that I have been using for a while. (less now that I got my KayFun, though)

As for coil replacement, you'll start to notice that they aren't hitting as hard, or at all. but most of the time, before that happens you'll find they just start to get a burnt taste. You'll definitely be able to taste it. It almost tastes like a metallic taste. Like a burnt metallic tastes... like someone is welding in your mouth.

Coils will last anywhere from a day or two, to as much as two weeks... depending on how much you vape and the type of juice you're using. dark coloured juices and sweet or dessert flavours tend to gunk up the coils faster and they don't seem to last as long.

Hi, tomsa, I think you're on to something with your last reason for doubling up, can't think of another really, other than having to flavours readilly available. :)
Good info on when to swap the coil, but it seems like such a waste, why including everything times 5, when it would appear that 5 coils and 5 wicks would suffice, no? Yes, curiosity had the better of me, so I dissasembled the whole thing to see what it looks like, seems easy enough to just swap those parts.

Flavour, I just picked one that looked the least non-appealing really, they had plenty on the shelf, so as chance would have it, it was a "Hangsen diversity E-liquid, hazelnut and coffee" flavour. Haven't quite yet gotten my head around berry tastes when it comes to smoking, but I guess the whole point is to not see it as such, but as something different, but I'm fond of both coffee and hazelnuts, so I went with that, for now. :)

Don't know about Sweden in general, to be honest. Word started spreading at work when a new shop started, specializing in kits and flavours, and today as I happened to be near, I went in and got started.

Can't say I know if what I got is good in general or not, didn't do any read-ups or reviews ahead of time, so I'll just take it as it comes, and adjust as my own experience tells me that I need to. :)

Wow, gone for a bit, and once back I'm in the face of many great answers, clear ones at that, and given in a very friendly and nice tone, I think I'll stay here even if I quit vaporing, many thanks to you all, I had to go for a bit, and then I wrote my response to tomsa, didn't notice you until I was to post and had timed out. :D

I did see some short films on cleaning, rinsing, and it seems simple and easy enough, I'll do that.

I'll be back for sure, and will attempt a more coherent reply next time, this one I write off to it being close to 1AM. :)

/Dennis
