Hello ECF from England

Hello everyone. I decided to try an e-cig 5 weeks ago - I smoked small cigars for many years and to be honest had no intention of giving them up. To my surprise I found I really enjoyed vaping and haven’t smoked since. What is more, apart from the odd twinge, I haven’t missed them and am feeling a lot better for it.

I did some research before I started and got a Riva kit, which I still really like; however on day two when my spare battery failed I discovered rule 1 – always get backups for your backups! I now have 4 Riva/ Ego type batteries charged up every day! It has only been 5 weeks but it has seemed like a long and fascinating journey. I have discovered the delights of 5v vaping with a small box mod and have tried a variety of cartomisers. I even got a (very cheap!) multimeter and regularly check my battery voltages, cartomiser resistances etc. Next up is a Lavatube for Christmas. Who’d have thought it! I only have to look a my wife to answer that one, I don’t know who is more surprised by my new interest!

I have had a lot of help and support from UK forums, but I have also learnt a lot from this forum and felt it was time to plunge into your huge pool (well ocean I guess!). I look forward to getting to know some of you and continuing my vaping education.

Welcome to the forum! That is something I should really get, I keep meaning to get a multimeter.

I would ask my hubby for a multimeter and soldering kit for Christmas, but he already thinks I went off the deep end with my little 'lab' setup.

I think I know what the trigger is wellersl - it is when I have a few drinks in the evening! I've amazed myself by giving up smoking after donkey's years, but there is only so much a man can give up! I'm concentrating on hardening my determination and getting the most possible pleasure from vaping and hoping this will dull this effect over time - so far so good.
