Hi all -
My name is Will. I wanted to give a little info about myself as well as a brief history of my experiences with E-cigs and where I'm at presently.
I live in the Washington, DC area in the United States, although technically I am a Maryland resident (Prince George's County). I smoked from the age of 17 until about three months ago, when I made the switch to ecigs.
Originally, about two years ago, I ordered a Blu, which I enjoyed until I had to start buying cartridges that claimed they were the equivalent of twenty cigarettes and realistically we less than five cigarettes per. I was pretty upset about that and subsequently returned to smoking analogs.
While I was back smoking, the electronic cigarette scene has flourished considerably. My aim with vaping has always been to reduce my costs, rather than any health reason - but I consider the health benefits to be a huge advantage and am sure that this is a selling point on a lot of vapers. Not smelling like an ash tray and better oral health are additional huge benefits in this new hobby.
I consider vaping an alternative to smoking - that can be healthier, more cost friendly, and an interesting alternative subculture in general.
On Facebook I am a member of the group Maryland Vapers which I highly suggest you join if you are in the area - we have meets, contests, and are known in the local B&M scene, which has been booming a lot in 2013.
About three months ago, I ordered a Joyetech 510-T, my first tank system and first manual button. I loved everything about the 510-T until my atomizers began clogging needlessly. I purchased a Kangertech EVOD from the nearest B&M about 90 days ago, and I consider that to be my real beginning to proper vaping, and the true end to smoking. Before I found a consistently reliable device with affordable upkeep, I would have to resort to classic cigarettes when my hardware failed.
I've also jumped immediately into the DIY scene, and have been accumulating supplies and have even turned out a few test runs of some vape juices. However, I still have a lot of testing and research to do before I can begin giving out samples of my juices. I take very detailed records of all my DIY activity and hope to make a somewhat lucrative business out of it in the distant future. For now, I am just a consumer like the majority of users. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and I'd be happy to relay any I've come across to you!
