Hello Everyone!!

First let me say THANK YOU to all the people who put this site up, the people who post ALL this great material, and everyone else here. Talk about a support group!! Ive only had a e-cig for a few days and am beyond impressed(even with the low quality one I have).

Ill save you all the long story of how/why I got here but it started (like many it seems) with a gas station njoy e-cig. After 40.00 for the "starter kit" and a pack of 5 cartomizers (I hope thats the right term, Ive been reading but there's A LOT! ;) I have realized that it is simply NOT enough and way to expensive to get me away from the 1.5 packs of analogs I smoke daily. I have researched the different products and think that I would be better served by going with a E-Go starter kit then buying more products similar to the N-Joy.

I live in Ohio and there is a shop a couple hours away also in Ohio that seems to have good reviews called AltSmoke. I wanted to get some opinions on a starter kit they have called "Joye eGo - Starter Kit" and if people thought it would suffice for a pretty heavy smoker or if there were better options. I just don't have a lot of $$ right now and would prefer to get something that I will be happy with and not NEED to upgrade in a week or two again. Also I wanted to make sure that this was something I could "refill" myself with the e-juice and not just have to buy the cartomizers like the NJoy which I don't think can be refilled (which at 20.00 for 5 is horrible as little as they last).

Any opinions, advice, or ANYTHING anyone can pass on will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for this being long winded.

Thanks!!

If you're looking for a simple tank solution, check out the Vivi Nova Tank Clearomizer V2.
Healthcabin have them in stock for $12.99, as well as the ego batteries and chargers (I'd get a pass-through - handy charging!)
The Viva Nova can be re-wicked and rebuilt easily too - saving more money in the future.

Hi and welcome to ECF. I'm in the Akron area myself and have been down to the Altsmoke store a few times. The eGo is a decent unit to get you going and it'll perform adequately. But I'd suggest you make the drive over to New Philly and check out a bunch of stuff in person. There's nothing like hands on to know what'll do what you want. The staff is very helpful and friendly and they've got a rack of juices there for you to taste if you want. You can't beat tasting a bunch of juices for free, it'll save you a bunch of $$$ if you don't have to order lots of sample sizes to find what tastes good to you. Plus you'll probably end up meeting some other vapers in the process and you can talk shop with the crew too.

1.5 packs a day, you gonna need a 1000mah or so battery from my experience, something with a USB pass through. I use Ego-C Upgrades with pass though and they perform well for me. Can't speak for Ego variants but I have torn open Joye batteries and have been very impressed with the quality.

You can refill those carts btw, you can pull the cap off the end and pour in whatever ejuice you want. Just boil them every 3 refills(depending on the how dark your juice is) or so and you are good to go! Not sure but I think the Njoy is a 510 connection and screw right onto the Ego and it's 510 variants. Doesn't look pretty without a thread cover but it works just great!

Wow! You guys have 2 vape shops within driving distance? Go with the Kgo. It's better and cheaper.

Yeah, there's Altsmoke and Vapor Bomb, both ECF approved suppliers. Altsmoke is in New Philadelphia, and Vapor Bomb is in Barberton. And yes, I realize I'm one lucky vaper to have the luxury of 2 good suppliers so close. On one occassion I was going to be in Barberton anyway so I called and placed a juice order with Vapor Bomb. They mixed my juice while I took care of some business and I had my order in hand within 2 hours.

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY VERY MUCH!! It looks like I have a few other things to check out before I make a purchase. I will have to Google where Barberton is and see if its any closer to me then New Philly (Which I still want to head over to as the hands on suggestion makes great sense!). Want to look into the K-Go kits. Well I better find out what a K-Go is 1st. I thought most of the mid-size PV's were all E-Go's.

In my reading I have heard a lot of GREAT things about Clearomizers (spelling). From what I have read they seem like a newer thing. I have to find out if theres a setting to email me when a thread I started (or posted in) has replies. Despite using computers for the past.... Well since Vic 20's I have not posted in many forums.

Thanks again and I look forward to talking to everyone (and learning) a lot more.

Hi and welcome.

I'm only a month or so into my vaping but like you started out with a crazy expensive disposable that I picked up in London. I liked the concept, got home and ordered what I thought was a decent PV. It was ok but I felt I needed more so without that much research got an eGo-T that I used with cartomizers. Then I got an eGo-T pass thru. Both were ok and got me off analogs but I've now decided to go with a variable volt after reading tons of info on here.

In all honesty I think I could have saved tons by going straight to the a variable volt. The one I ordered is called an Apollo Vtube. There's lots of posts on it here and they have a great sale on right now with a massive discount code. Do a quick search of the forums and see what you think.

My only other suggestion would be to make sure whatever you buy, you have a back up so that when you're charging batteries or have any issues you have a fall back and to make sure you order enough juice and cartomizers. Samples are great for juice so you can decide what sort of thing you like and it'll keep you busy if you have any cravings.

In my reading I have heard a lot of GREAT things about Clearomizers (spelling).
Every PV needs a delivery system and 90% of problems arise from either the wrong delivery system or human error. The delivery systems are generally:
cartomizer- metal tube with a heating element, stuffing/ filler and an air passage. You soak the stuffing and vape. When the stuffing looses its juice you refill it.

pre punched cartomizer in a tank- cartomizer has a hole in it and is surrounded by a tank filled with juice- juice goes through the hole in the carto and keeps stuffing moist.

atomizer + cartridge- atomizer is the element and the cartridge holds juice. Juice drips from the cartridge on to atty.

clearomizer- wick+ element in a plastic tube with no stuffing

Here's an Ecig Glossary with "most" terns:
E-Cig Glossary. Definitions, abbreviations, and meanings. | eCigology

Good Luck and have fun
