Hello everybody i'm Fuzzpop I found out about e-cigs from a friend but my friend was no help with getting started haha. I was wondering if this is a good thing for me to buy and what other things I should get for my E-cigs.

I sure hope that's been working out alright for you, but if you want something that's simple and is pretty awesome (also inexpensive), I'd grab the KGO from hoosierecigsupply, along with some 1.5ohm dual coil smoktech cartomizers (or some Low Resistance Boge single coils), and some good juice. The kit only cost me about $45, so throw in another $10 for 5 cartos and some good juice for $15-20, and you're pretty much set for a month as long as you keep the batteries charged and cartos wet. After that, you just need to grab more cartos and more juice.

Join the IRC channel again if you want. I could help you find everything you need and all that if you'd rather have realtime info.

I had a friend try something like that before and it didn't even last him longer then a week. Its probably pretty tempting getting a cheap good deal like that when first starting but believe me, in the long run you want to get something of quality. Like dnorf suggested the Kgo is a good start for the price. If you take care of it, it will last you a lot longer then the linked item. Madvapes.com helped me alot when I was first starting off, its basically a one stop shop with great customer reviews, great customer service and great prices.

Good luck

It looks like a three-piece setup (battery-atomizer-cartridge). This is an outdated setup and it's a lot of hassle. You are more likely than not to have problems with it. It also doesn't say what threading it is, so a couple of hours after you get it you will be back here asking if anyone could please identify that for you so you could buy cartomizers for it. I would steer clear.

Hi fuzzpop

I agree that the volt from smokeless image is a much better cig style device, as are the models from vapor4life. The model they are based on is called kr808d and these are easily the best of the cig style ecigs.

The model you've shown us in that link is not worth your time or money.
You'll have trouble getting replacement consumable parts, the cartridges hold next to no juice and the battery life is appalling.

I know this because I bought one just like it at a petrol station for 10 bucks just for kicks one night because I wanted to experiment with it.

Ok, thank you everyone for the quick replies. if there's anything else you think I as a beginner should know please share, and i'll look into the kr808d more. :2cool:

Without knowing anything about you or your smoking habits it's hard to tell you anything.

If you can tell us how many, how often, how long etc as well as situations you'd normally be in when smoking we can point you in a few directions.

The only advice I can give you right now is that knowing you'll be told to go in a million different directions, bigger, smaller, cartomizers, dripping etc ..... Get what you know you will use. If that's a cig style, don't be ashamed. If its a bigger battery model or even a box mod, no problem. As long as you will use it then that's what matters most.

I'm not bad about smoking too often, how ever if i get stressed out ill tend to need more smokes that week. I normally can last a week with one soft pack but sometimes i'll need two. I usally take a 15min smoke before and after work each day. I try my best to smoke out side and away from home because people with asthma live with me. I hope that's enough information, if it's not let me know!

If you want to stick with the cig size PV than I would go with the Volt. It seems that on the forums you see mostly positive comments from those that use them. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

Is the volt the same as the kr808d? It seems that those are the most favored for beginning, considering most of these replies have something to do with those two.

Hello and welcome! I use 808's from V4L and like them; others use smokelessimage Volt and like it. They are both good products that should meet your needs from what you have written. I smoked waaaaay more than you and need to charge two of my 3 batteries once a day. With your habits, you should be fine.

I was able to quit with a 510 manual button from volcaonoeciggs.com I used the clearomizers and the 18mg juice at first. Im still using it, but making my own juice. I would highly recommend it. I quit smoking within a couple of days of starting it. It is small, looks similar to a cig and that seems to be what helps out newbies. Eventually you'll want to upgrade to a better and bigger device, but id recomend that one for starters. Worth every penny.

Ok, thanks for the link. Everyone's signatures with how many cigarettes they avoided and money they saved is inspiring. :2cool:

The part most new people seem to find themselves hung up on when learning about e-cigarettes (myself included) is that there are really just 2 prevalent types, the kr808d thread pattern and the 510 thread pattern. The thread pattern determines which batteries and cartomizers/attomizers fit together. sure, there are several different styles, sizes, capacities and manufacturers, but you will more often than not find that any reputable vendor is selling one or both of those types. Since you are a fairly light smoker a kr-808 model such as the V4L or Volt would likely serve you well and you can get replacement cartos or attys from any vendor that sells kr-808 products. Just keep in mind there are compatibility issues between kr-808 version 1 and version 2 batteries and chargers, but not with the cartos and attys. I can't offer the specific details as I'm a 510 man myself, but I'm sure someone with the answer for that will be along shortly. Hope you find the solution that will work best for you.
