Sorry, I can never pass up a Simpsons pun. Hi, I ran across this site and have learned a great deal since. However I'm in need of specific help and thus the register and intro.

I'm a truck driver, and I do team. This means there are 2 drivers in the truck, and it never stops moving. I'm a pack a day smoker and would really like to Vap instead as my co-driver doesn't smoke. I've purchased crap equipment from truckstops (Npro, Smoke 51, E-smokes) and they all taste like total crap, have little to no vapor, and generally leave a horrid aftertaste in your mouth that takes 2 days to get rid of. So I've been reading the forum for 3 or 4 days now, and have come to the conclusion that the ego or the ego-t is what I should probably purchase. as I drive each day for 10 hours however I'm unsure if this is a wise decision, and if it is a wise decision I have no idea what to purchase with the ego starting kit. I know I want to get the kola flavor vapor, but am unsure of my needs for anything else. If you could help with suggestions I would be most appreciative. and no I don't need a cigarette sized, look alike, or anything of the nature. just something easy to use for someone that drives a lot and is a newbie.

thank you, razor eddie

Welcome.....
imo, your best best would be to go with an eGo passthrought ecig. This will allow you to plug into the cigarette lighter to charge and vape at the same time....unplug and take it with you....it then acts just like a 650mah eGo.....you can get an eGo -t atty and tank and you are all set....

Look at liberty-flights.com they have a 20% discount(click the link on top left of their homepage to activate)....The usb cigarette charger can be gotten at Wal-mart for about 6 bucks or so....
my 2cents.....I drive over 3 hrs roundtrip to work....and it works like a charm...
ejuice?
The wild cherry pepsi from Freedomsmokeusa.com is spot on.......very good
hope this helps.

It may help us give you suggestions if you give us some more information... How often do you make stops, what kind of cigs do you smoke normally... I'm thinking a go-go or a mod would be good for you from what you've said so far. Nhaler and Cigeasy both carry the go-go. I think Nhaler is out of stock right now but I haven't checked in a day or so.

As far as mods I haven't tried any mods yet so I'll let the more experienced make reccomendations on those. I think for drivers they often reccomend bottom feeder mods.

Welcome!

If you're in the truck all the time (unless rigs these days have normal 110 volt outlets) you may need a car cig-lighter USB adapter for charging the eGo units. Also, I'd suggest getting the largest eGo battery mah that you can. A few Spare atomizers are always a good idea. If you're in the truck all the time anyway you may wish to get an eGo pass-thru. You can vape/charge at the same time.

The kit I'd suggest would have 2 complete units. This provides a backup in case something fails, or isn't charged. People often recommend various cartos for drivers, since you don't have to refill them constantly. I drip, so I leave that to other replies.

You may wish to try (but are certainly not limited to) Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.. They let you order each battery from a drop-down list, and have a 3rd battery option. I don't personally suggest you go below 2.0 ohms on the atty/carto as some have had problems with LR atties/cartos on the eGo type units. Lower ohm = more oomph. Standard ohm rating is around 3, but 2.5 or even 2.0 boosts the vape a bit.

Juice selection is varied and totally up to you. See the vendor's list as you scroll down ECF's home page.

EDIT: P.S. I must take waaaay too long to type these things....lol.... I thought I'd be the 1st reply! Sorry for the duplicate info, but Good Luck!

Oh yeah, I'd also suggest manual batteries (with a button), not automatic batteries.

Razor Ed - Welcome to ECF. The eGo-t should suit you well. There will be others suggestions :) If you go eGo you might consider getting the eGo pasthrough:

car adapter:
https://www.cignot.com/product_p/acc-dc0-usb.htm

Not up on good Colas.... cignot above has some cherry cola, vanilla cola and a red bull flavor....

An eGo/eGo-T or Go-Go would be great for starting out to see if you enjoy vaping but for long stints of driving I think you will want to move into a feeder so you aren't trying to change cartos or tanks every hour or so. I know it doesn't seem like much but when you are driving its not easy to change a carto and tanks are notorious for leaking at the most inopportune times. A feeder can easily hold a days worth of juice and just require an occasional squeeze or pump feed.

Welcome Razr :)

Let me 2nd the suggestion on the go-go. Its about the size of a small cigar, but has a huge battery capacity, and you can fill it with around 3ml of liquid (average vapor uses about 3-5ml a day). You can even put a "drip tip" on it and drip juice directly into the cartomizer (combination of atomizer and cartridge) right from the ejuice bottle. You can even keep several cartomizers handy to change flavors/nicotine level, at will. Its convenient, works well, gives plenty of vapor and lasts and lasts. Its a lot more "fiddle free" than some of the smaller models.

I don't disagree with all said above. Just make sure you learn about blowing out an atty & priming it---really helps get rid of brand new horrid taste. Also, suggest getting an assortment of juices---sample sizes are great for when starting out & it is amazing how our tastes and flavor preferences change. MB reds -- go for 18 and/or 24 nic.

Make sure you have a spare of everything.

Hi, Dr. Nick!

I just wish that ONCE somebody would call me "Sir" and not add "you're making a scene" at the end of the sentence.

Me fail english? That's unpossible!

(feel at home now?) LOL

Lots of good suggestions here, Eddie. I won't add to it and make this more confusing. I *do* like the suggestion of Liberty Flights and the Riva, though. For about half a C note you're good to go for a few weeks. If you don't like it you're not out all that much cash, if you do like it, it's easy to add on to it.

Good luck and keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down, driver. =)

Wow, fast replies! Thank you. I smoke marlboro reds, I stop around every 4 hours, I have 12 110 outlets in the truck due to my APU, and I'm in the truck 24-7 for 3 weeks and 2 days a month. As for juices, do I need some kind of cotton or something to refill with, or do the carts come with that installed already? Thanks again Razr

Please understand the difference between carts, cartomizers, attys, eGo atty-t's etc....When I answered your op I kept it as simple as possible, considered what you were asking for . There are many options to vaping....and many vendor to buy from.....you said as simple as possible......

Welcome Razr_edy,

Also consider the fact that while driving there is a small chance of leaking with either the eGo-T Type A or Type B Tanks/Atomizers. It could happen from fast draws while vaping or just a faulty Tank or Atomizer. So you can imagine that happening while driving. Scrambling for a napkin, wiping down your battery, taking out the tank to see if there is any juice left, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love my eGo-T but there is always that 1% chance that happens. I have been using my Go-Go for two days now and it seems to be plug and play!. 100 drops in the cartomizer, screw it in, screw the cone in, and start vaping.

I have trouble with the go-go's....like the batt time, not the cartos....and since you can only use the cartos Drew sells, it is not very attactive alternative. Beside, he asked about the eGo....why does eveyone insists on shoving their own opinions down throats of newbies when they ask for a specifc type of pv?

I keep a pass through in my car. No need to worry about batteries and charging. If you are in a truck it would work well. I work for a trucking company too, I know you drivers smoke a lot out of bordom and stress. LOL I say start out with a pass through to use while you are just in the truck. Batteries are expensive. I plug in where ever I can. I use a pass through at work and home plugged into my computer. For when you are not in the truck I would take a look at the "Silverbullet Mod". Can take a beating from what I have read. I am getting ready to order one for my husband. He works in precast concrete. Good Luck. If you ever need a load out of Iowa...I might be able to help you out! LOL

Keep her in the wind!

PS. I use a pass through from Vapor 4 Life. Cheap. $29 but I think they are on sale right now. I have only had it for two weeks but it works good so far. (Knock on wood) It will give you time to reserch more if nothing else. I know it takes a while to figure out what the hell everyone is talking about. LOL

A reliable starter kit is the Riva/eGo, as said before. I smoked Pall Mall Reds at about the same rate as you do, and have been completely smoke-free over a month, now. With that said, I'd recommend NOT key-holing yourself to quitting completely with your kit. There are withdrawals and worries if vaping is right for you when you'll want a cigarette. Toward the end of my smoking, I kept a partial pack of smokestix in my pocket for a week without touching one. It was just a comfort to know something familiar was there if I "needed" it. All worries aside at this point, and the partial pack of smokes is in a drawer at home without a care or thought. I'll get around to throwing them in the trash sooner or later.

As the other members have said, the kit you're eye-balling is a good choice. Check out the coupon code master list for savings from whichever vendor you choose. Also, check out the list of ECF suppliers. If they're advertised here, you can bet they're legit 99% of the time.

I'd recommend 510 CE2 XL cartomizers in the 2.4-2.6ohm area, but the 2.6-2.8ohm ones are quite comparable in flavor and vapor production. I paired them with my eGo/Riva kits and was satisfied. My opinion on the eGo-T is that it's not as satisfying as the cartos. I had 1000mah, 1100mah and 650mah batteries, and in a day of heavy vaping I would use one big battery and finish the day with the smaller one while the big one was on the charger. If you're looking for a heavier vapor/throat hit (TH)/flavor, I would suggest the 510 Boge 2ohm cartomizers. I use those in the evening when I used to smoke the heaviest after a day of vaping on the CE2 XLs.

When I refer to 510, that is the thread pattern of the eGo/Riva kits and any atty or carto that you decide on should be designated as such for use with the eGo/Riva batteries.

If you want to do more homework before your kit purchase, there alot of mods that will hold a longer charge with replaceable batteries and some that have juice-feeder capabilities for higher juice capacity. I've graduated to a homemade mod that I made myself with 3000mah battery, now, so as to not have to worry about a battery fizzling.

Welcome to ECF, and good luck in your transition! Keep them wheels spinnin', Driver!

I think the passthrough suggestions were good ideas also but it may not be needed with the go-go.... I don't know if it was me I'd get a passthrough or a 3rd battery I think.

Everyone is recommending an eGo so I'll throw something else out there - a 18650 battery mod & MAP Tank. This is bigger than an eGo but a single 18650 battery running at 3.7V will last a long time. 1 will probably get you through a day, and if not 2 most definitely will. There's probably over a hundred 18650 mods so which one to choose would be up to you.

The MAP Tank, if I'm not mistaken, was made by a truck driver. It's a big juice tank that holds about 5ml of juice - enough for over an entire day. It doesn't use any filler material so it tastes great and the CE2's that it uses produce great vapor. It's the best thing I've ever vaped. Unfortunately they are only sold at one place and usually sell out pretty quick so it's hard to get one.

Just something to think about :p The eGo PT looks to be a solid choice too as long as there are cigarette light -> USB adapters that can provide enough amperage.
