First , It may or may not , contain nicotine . That being said , the advantages are numerous . No tobacco , so no tar , and nasty carcinogens . No flame , or cherry , so no holes in your car seat , or headliner . No nasty smell , on you , your clothes , your car , wherever , whatever . Wide choice of flavors , and nicotine strengths . Plus , if you practice a little , you can stealth vape , anywhere , and no one will know . (little or no vapor )

You are not breathing in the 4000 other chemicals in cigarettes which include carcinogens, MAOIs, carbon monoxide, tar

Your taste buds and sense of smell should get better to the point where cigarettes taste like crap if you happen to try one

You will smell better to other people and your mouth won't taste like an ashtray

As long as you don't overdo vaping or overdo nicotine, your breathing and sinuses should improve

You can take just a few drags without wasting anything, or more drags than a cigarettes would be if you want

You can sneak a vape in a public bathroom stall by just holding the vapor in your lungs longer then blowing it into your chest.

You will feel good about getting away from cigarettes

The good news is that e-cigs produce no SMOKE. It's the smoke that can kill you. The optional nicotine is fairly harmless.

Instead of producing smoke, e-cigs produce water vapor. It takes a little time to adjust to, but after a while most vapers enjoy it much more than smoking. Good luck and feel free to ask as many questions as you want.

Vaping changes your life...it makes it possible to continue doing what we as X-smokers liked about smoking, but without the downsides, the bad smells the burn holes, the huge expense. So explore the options, pick a good starter kit, like an Ego, or go all out and get a silver bullet and a 5ml liquinator tank and dive right in, whatever trips your trigger...good luck.

The upsides have already been covered (no smoke, smell, etc), the only real downside I've come across so far (started yesterday) is that the dang battery in the one I was gifted doesn't last that long... however I haven't fully charged it yet either. Too much anticipation from wanting to play with the vapor haha :) Which is an upside I didn't see covered here! I never smoked inside, but I can relax on my futon in front of the TV or at the computer puffing away with my little e-cig and not worry about staining the walls or the smell going to other parts of the house. There's an incredibly large array of flavors, from chocolate mousse to mango, menthol to butterscotch. You can choose how strong you want to vape at (anywhere from 0mg nicotine to 36), you can make your own flavors, take a couple "puffs" in bed and not be scared to fall asleep and light your bed on fire, the positives are endless.
