Hello!

I have been browsing the forums for a while but finally registered and hope to take part of the community. I am actually somewhat new to vaping, been at it only for a few months. However, recently with the video reviews and research I have collected a huge interest to attempt to switch to mechanical mod as I am a huge cloud chaser myself. While I know the things that comes with cloud chasing, I aim to slowly and through experimentation reach the point where I am satisfied and happy with it! I aim to be rebuilding the tank and aim to sub-ohm in the short run.

So far I managed to obtain a Sentinel Mech Mod in my hands. I already have it. I am going to order a couple of VTC4 batteries, battery recharger, ohm meter, kanthal A1 28 gauge wire. However, I am not sure about what tank to get. I've been recommended to get the Kanger Aerotank dual coil atomizer, but I want more of a second opinion from you guys to know what to go for. As well as with all the materials I am going to be purchasing online. (Do not worry about juice, I can access the materials for them relatively easily)

Do note that getting other materials is extremely difficult as vaping is banned here. I will have to order it to my friend who is in London to come bring me the materials with him (as they are okay with it as long at is personal use and brought form outside). I am placing the order soon as he is coming end of May but I want to make sure I get all the materials I require. Otherwise my next opportunity would be sometime in August to get more supplies. Any suggestions from you guys would be truly appreciated.

Cheers! and thanks for the help

If you're using a mechanical mod, then it's not worth using a clearomizer with a replacement head in it such as the Aerotank. You said you purchased some Kanthal wire, so all you need now is some organic/sterile cotton (Cotton that doesn't have chemicals in it) and an RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer). In terms of those, some good starters would be:

- IGO-W (3 post, dual coil capability)
- IGO-L (2 Post, single coil capability)

I greatly encourage you to read about mechanical mod/battery safety though before you continue. It's very important to know what you're doing because small mistakes can lead to big mishaps very quickly. There will always be time to "chase clouds" but the knowledge behind the safety in doing so, is far more important.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know about the battery safety issues. It is something I have and will take very seriously. That is why i want equipment that i can start slow then gradually go heavy as I learn how to use it properly.

I checked the IGO-W and IGO-L those are the manual drip. In which you have to build and soak the cotton manually rather having a tank dripping on to it. For me at least, I think a tank might be a lot more convenient if it is possible.

Welcome! How come it's banned where you are?

The government doesn't believe that there is conclusive research on the effects of vaping and the chemicals that are used when it turns into vape form. (That and the fact that in such a small population, if it took off so popularly like it did in Kuwait, then they would lose a lot of tax money from normal cigarettes as ppl will switch to vaping >.>)

AK_vap, thank you for the kayfun recommendation. I'll look into it and do a research on it. I'll see what other ppl say as well! :D

I am using an Aspire Nautilus tank with a 1.5 ohm dual coil on a Nemesis with a kick and it works great; I really like my Helios RDA; have it built with dual coils; 28 Gauge for a .5 ohm setup; just pull out the kick and I can enjoy it that way; I do however recommend using a fuse; and get familiar with a Multimeter; a short is not your friend! I run VCT4 and VCT5 batteries. I downloaded a really cool app for my I-Phone that makes understanding resistance and voltage/wattage vs amps; its called Ohmulator; it's pretty cool.

If it is difficult to get vaping supplies, I would look into getting a rebuildable tank. Then, all you need is kanthal and cotton. A mech mod in your case was a good decision, as all you'll need for that are batteries. I've heard a lot of good things about the kayfun and the Russian 91%. Drippers are another rebuildable option. Last, you can get something of both in one with a genesis style tank like the Kracken. It's a tank with the atomizer above it. Some use stainless steel mesh as a wick in these, but cotton can be used as well to create an auto dripper. Like dripping without the need to drip. You run cotton from the atomizer deck down into the tank, and tilt to "drip" onto the atomizer. You get the taste of a dripper this way, without the inconvenience.

Another option is to get the Kanger Protank II. It's a single coil tank, and while you are supposed to put in replacement coils, it is also possible to replace cotton and wicks in the atomizer heads. I would get a rebuildable tank like the Kayfun in your situation, and possibly the Protank II just to have a couple of options and back up. Also, I would also get another device as backup for the device you have. Two of everything is recommended so you are never stuck without.
