Hello there from Santa Rosa. Just ordered a Riva from DigitalCiggz and hoping to get it tomorrow. Had a PureSmoke which was not so great. 4or 5 people at my work have decided to do the e-cig thing but they went with an overpriced "Randy's". I watched em vape and looks like as much vapor as I got with my PureSmoke. I'm hoping to show off my Riva soon.

Anywayz, I love this forum. Learned a lot so far.

Thanx, Joshua

Hi Joshua, I'm new here and new to vaping too. From what I've read, you have to be careful when (re)filling the carts that are used on the auto batteries because if you overfill the cart, there is a risk of the juice dripping into the battery and killing it.

On the other hand, the manual batteries are covered, preventing the juice from accidently dripping into it.

welcome Josh.

I originally wanted to start with an "auto" but in reading the great info here before my first purchase I decided to go the manual which is generally considered more consistent and reliable. I did expect the button to be cumbersome/awkward but reasoned that I could get over it for the benefits/longer batt lifespan. Really it is not a drawback at all and quickly becomes second nature.

Hi Joshua, Welcome to the forum! I am a Sonoma State alum. Also I am using my Riva as I write this. I'm over a year off analogs after a 40 year habit.

The benefit of the manual is that it allows you more control over when the heating element is engaged. For example, if I press down the button BEFORE I take a hit the juice is already starting to get warm, thus the hit is stronger. Some people also will release their button just before they finish taking their hit, thus saving the batteries juice. It really doesn't take long before pushing on a button becomes second nature.

I don't know what a Randy is, but it dosen't sound good. Please turned your friends on to the Riva and bring them here to ECF!
