Hello Forum - Building a mod, don't want to blow myself up

Hello all,

I've designed a mod and I'm just waiting for the chassis to come back from the CnC company.

18650 batteries seem the way to go.
Since my itaste VV went senile I have been back on my 3 ego batteries and 3.7V works for me and my home mixed liquids.

So I got it into my head to made a mod. (That micro-stick is close to what I want but not quite)

For a single voltage device what circuits do I need to include? as I'm pretty sure I cant just direct wire it and touch wires together to fire it.

Ideally I'd like to use li-ion batteries as they charge quickly.

Once I have this mod together I'll think about including that DNA VV chip.

Please thankyou and hello again.

Please do a lot of research prior to attempting this project. A poorly designed homemade mod could easily become a homemade box or pipe bomb. There is a modders forum here on ECF. Take a long peak in there to get ideas on how to do this safely.

I'd like to recommend that you not use protected ICR Li-ion batteries, but use safe chemistry IMR batteries instead. They may well save you from a catastrophic accident.

Hello, and welcome.

If you could include some more details on what you want to build, it would be helpful to those trying to help.

I Googled micro stick and it looks similar to the Gripper by Smoktech. Except that the Gripper will only fit a cartomizer in it's mounting area.

Actually, yes. Non-regulated mods are just that.

I recently built one that is similar to the micro stick. I posted a couple pics here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mech-homebuilt-mods-only-10.html#post13334482

Not entirely true. I have a Gripper (only $8 at Mad Vapes), and it has an optional extender connector (additional $4) which you can attach a 510 drip atomizer, clearomizer, or cartotank on top of it.

Just had a look at that home mod pr0n thread. The first one is spot on.

I'm building this with a list of things I don't want

I don't like the glitzy fussiness of the DNA30 thing with all the settings - 3 settings or just a "kick button" i like the sound of that. A battery indicator light is good along with usb charging and passthrough. But those are additions for later.
I don't want a long device - some things out there look like light sabres
I dont need to stealth vape - just personally vape.
I don't want it too heavy - like the VTR but not too light either.
I don't want to be tied into one size tank
I don't want a non-replaceable battery.
