I quit about 9 weeks ago after 40 years. My slow down period was only 3-4 days though. Enough for some good variable voltage batteries and EVOD's to arrive. I get my nicotine fix now, and it tastes a LOT better than cigs. My car is clean, I don't cough anymore. My mouth doesn't taste like the bottom of a birdcage when I wake up. I'm loving it.

Welcome to ECF!

I was a smoker for 32 years. I started when I was 14 and tried everything on and off to quit. An e-cig did the trick. I've been cigarette free for 9 months now and I've never looked back. Your lungs will feel better eventually, especially if you find the sweet spot that gets you completely off cigarettes. Good luck!

Smoker of almost 1.5 to 2 packs a day (around 30 sticks) and generally top to bottom, I was what people generally chain smokers, for almost 18 years.

Tried quitting using ecigs back in 2011 for a couple months, but was never able to quit to 0 cigs because of the unsatisfactory options available back then.

This time around its been around 40 days and I've been smoke free pretty much throughout the day I started, there is an occasional single stick every few days and that too just to remind myself how much I hate them now ;-)

Once in a while there are bad / pressure days where you feel like it, just keep patience and try to do with some hard eliquid.. But hold on to it. A few days into it and hopefully analogues will be history.

The feeling of not waking up choked and coughing like a dying man is worth every effort you make to be a vaper.

Keep trust and believe, gluck!

Congrats on a great start, it's not about how many cigs you had, most of us don't care about that as it's not a contest. It's all about how many cigs you didn't smoke, now that we want to hear about. I started with an ego-c kit not knowing anything, wasn't the best setup, but I was able to quit the cigs. Then I got a evod tank, then a PT2 mini, a whole new ball game, so much better delivery system, I was set.

Just find what you like and enjoy better breathing.

Congratulations! I'm a former smoker of 40 some years and vaped and smoked for almost 4 years until I found the right combination of device and atties, along with some juices. I finally quit completely about 10 weeks ago. I didn't think I'd ever be able to get completely off but one day it just happened. This is a great support forum so reach out when you need to.

I once bought a couple of disposable e-cigs and enjoyed the flavor but never really pursued getting into the whole lifestyle. I still liked my real cigarettes. Then my son bought an e-cigarette kit, got me interested and I bought one. I filled the tank with a menthol flavored liquid and have been "hooked" ever since. I still smoke real cigarettes but not as much as I was. I was a one carton every 7 days smoker. My last carton lasted me over 2 weeks and I don't buy cartons any more. I buy individual packs and only a couple at a time and they last me several days. My goal is to not buy real cigarettes any more. :)

Excellent!

As has been noted, the key is the number of cigarettes you're not burning any more!

Like many others, my story is one of quitting by accident... picked up the ego/ce5 kit for the curiosity factor & hoping to save money. About 10 days later I mentioned to someone I'd only had 1/2 a cigarette that day. The response of "Why bother?" tipped me over the point of realizing I could actually just stop - which was NOT my original goal! :)

It was just a matter of adjusting my muscles from automatically reaching for cigarettes, and go for the PV instead. ;)

I've been one of the lucky ones in avoiding the huge $$'s "investments" into lots of equipment. I'm most satisfied with the Innokin / iTaste MVP 2.0 ($40) & vv 3 ($25) batteries, and $4-13 tanks (Aspire, Kanger ProTank 2 mini, iTaste 16 type tanks).

NOTE: the geekiest thing I do though is rebuild the heads with pre-made coil + wick combinations from Fasttech for 5 cents a piece. One day I'm sure I'll grab my spool of wire and venture into the land of 100% hand-crafted coils.

And for juices, I've settled in with Mt. Baker Vapor for all my supplies (and some hardware too). Great product, flavors, service & prices! (10% discount code: vaporfrombaker)

Imo, finding the "just-right" flavors & nicotine mixtures that work for you, are a critical success factor! No one-size-fits-all, and this is the area you may have to do some experimenting in.

My 43 year 1 1/2 pack-a-day (PAD) habit has been over for 6 months & counting.

And one day, you're going to ask yourself the question, "why bother with that next pack? and you'll ease right into the role of ex-smoker and barely even notice it!

Sidebar: as a life-long geek, I can assure you that your computer equipment is going to thank you for quitting too! Especially your monitor screens and cooling fans.

Congrats on an outstanding start and best of luck!

37 years for me too. It's been over 3 years since my last cigarette. If I can do it, anyone can!

I was a menthol smoker too. Surprisingly I prefer to vape coffee flavors. And, I like peppermint more than menthol juices. You might try a few sampler packs of different flavors to see if you can find a flavor that you fall in love with. It makes all the difference.

Welcome aboard!
