hello everyone,
i have been off the stinkies for about 3 weeks now (very proud of myself). ages ago my partner bought me an e-lites kit to try to make me give up. i wasn't ready then so didn't use it.

so, now i've decided no more stinkies, i do enjoy partaking in the e cig but i've just looked at the prices for e-lites refills!!!!!!!

i'm not getting the equivalent of 40 cigarettes at all from one tip - i must be doing it wrong (and i only use it 3 or 4 times per day)!! they're soooo expensive.

so, i'm looking to buy one that will be cheaper to run so to speak. i don't have a huge amount to spend on the starter kit but it seems that the ones you can refill with liquid work out cheaper?

any recommendations please as i've looked at so many products, i'm going a wee bit cross-eyed.

thank you :)

Hi Floop and welcome to the club!

The easiest answer to your question is to suggest that you get some ejuice and refill the cartridges that you already have. That is the cheapest route to go for you right now. Definitely do not continue buying prefilled cartridges from retail, they are WAY overpriced. I suspect in the near future you will want to upgrage your device ( we all have at some point ) but from a dollars and cents standpoint, refilling your carts is cheapest way to go.

Bear in mind that there are literally tons of places to buy juice but one that I trust and have been buying from for quite some time is
Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com

Keep reading this forum and you will learn much. There are videos out there on Ytube that will show you how to refill your carts if you are unsure about that ... just google it or you can search the threads on this forum, I'm sure you find pointers.

And of course, feel free to continue to ask questions!

Vape On! :)

I'm guessing your ecig device is 808 threaded? If the company that sold it to you sells blank cartomizers or clearomizers that will fit on it buy the blanks.

Then buy a bottle of eliquid in the strength of nicotine that you like to vape. Use the CONDOM FILL method for filling cartomizers, use a needle tip bottle or syringe to fill clearomizers.

Its cheaper starting out to fill them yourself.

(You can google for a video on the CONDOM FILL method, its simple).

I believe the eLite is a KR808D-1 style battery. You should be able to buy blank cartomizers (the filter refill part) to fill your battery and just buy juice to go with it. You can probably find 15ml of juice for around 5-6 US Dollars and the cartomizers here are probably around 6 dollars for 5. I'm not positive how much it would be in the UK, but that's the cheapest way without buying a whole new kit.

When you are ready to spend the money for a new kit, I'm sure you'll get lots of recommendations. Just ask.

thank you for your replies :)
no idea about the thread type i'm afraid. its the 'e-lites' brand if thats any help?

i'm tempted to ditch it and buy a new kit (if its within my budget) where the refilling is cheaper - and easier that trying to open an e-lite cartridge!!

i am based in the uk. any recommendations for a good replacement which i'll be able to refill cheaper than e-lites?

They used to be 808 but then the company changed the threading to something I believe is proprietary.

Cheapest kit Iv found:
http://.........blogspot.com/2013/04/large-1100mah-ego-kit-1982.html

Is it the best, no. Will it work, yes, it's ego/510 so finding other delivery devices should be easy.

Haven't ordered any PVs from them but bought 6 Panasonic batts and they were extremely inexpensive and genuine. Delivery to Canada took only 11 days cuz they're based in Hong Kong and the order doesn't go through the busier Beijing terminal. I'd order batteries from them again.

I would also suggest something in the eGo family as they are a solid product and well supported.

Personally I started off with an eGo-T and latter updated the atomizer to a eGo-C style as I could get them cheaper. I was/am very happy with the eGo type A tank system as it's small, easy to refill with a needle bottle and gives a nice cool vape.

Tanks and Clearomizers (top coil systems) tend to have a warmer vape, many prefer the warmth but all work.

If you want variable voltage you can go with a twist battery or similar but I recommend getting a 900mAh or better so it has some life to it. Larger capacity batteries have to be recharged less often so tend to last longer (fewer recharge cycles = longer life).

The other option in batteries is a pass-through, this allows you to keep using the e-cig while it's charging. I have a 1000mAh pass-through that has been going strong for almost 2 years (around 3+ ml of juice per day), an very happy with it.

Saw this from an earlier link, looks good to me
"Bare Bones" Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com

Hope this helps, the other thing to reduce cost is to mix your own juice, it's not difficult but that is another subject :)

Tried something very similar before I really got into e-cigs, did not work out well.

The little batteries on these don't last long and seem to have a very short lifespan.

As for the company, I normally don't like to say negative things, but I see a couple of things that make me wonder.

First, what they are offering is actually a very low level of nicotine with little selection and clams of how many packages of analogs it equals, RED FLAG in a major way.

Next is the lack of detailed information available on the product unless you sign up to their site, RED FLAG.

After looking around I just don't get a good feel for the product or the company. Now this is just my own personal views and they could be a good vendor with a usable product (not likely, but possible).

I suggest you spend a bit more time in the forum here and see if anybody has any experience with this vendor before making a purchase.

On a side note, there are a lot of reviews on eGo systems from Joytec that can be purchased it many configurations or kits from probably over 100 vendors. Worth looking at for a good solid and flexible starter kit.

Hope this is helpful

Discount code allabout - giving 10% off entire order.
The Riva fires @ 3,7 volts and what I like about the package is it has both cartomizers and a clearomizer included. The owner Jason asked vapers what they wanted in a starter kit and this is want they told him. Highly reputable vendor.
Here's a bunch of reputable UK vendors with discount codes...compliments of Chrissie.
