Hello from a noob

Hi everyone. I just recently joined here.
I have been vaping since early November. I never intended to quit smoking. I simply wanted to see what ecigs were all about.
I'm glad I did.
I smoke one analog every 2 weeks now and it is simply out of taste curiosity.
I smoked a half of an analog yesterday....So there I was, standing out in the cold, smoking an American Spirit.
Boy, do I not miss it. At all. I couldn't even finish the thing. The taste and smell stuck with me for hours and I couldn't believe that I used to chain smoke almost 2 packs a day, not even 3 months ago.

Right now, my set-up is a manual from V2 and I fill blank carts (also from v2)
Johnson Creek and Highbrow Vapors are my main juice suppliers.

I am hoping to be able to learn more about vaping while I'm here. Thanks for reading!

Hi there,

Happened to me just as well, trying a tobacco cigarette a while after quitting and being unable to figure how i chain-smoked them. now that i'm not smoking anymore, i can smell cigarettes being smoked from quite a distance while when i smoked, i was an aware of the strong smell.

Keep up vaping and enjoy the freedom and health :)

Isn't it amazing how quickly you lose the taste for analogs? At least for me it was the same way. I think the trick is convincing yourself that you don't need them, and then BOOM! you just lose the taste for them. It's tough for me here at work, I still go outside to vape, because I have a... umm how do I say it, "conservative" bunch around me who think its the same thing smoking. So I'm forced to go outside and stand with all the smokers, and I can't believe I enjoyed that at one time. IT STINKS! Congrats and Welcome!

Welcome to the forums! I've been vaping almost a month now and I am so glad my husband and I switched to vaping. I sure don't miss the smell from analogs. I never really noticed it when I smoked but now that I vape, man I can pick smokers out of any crowd.

The forums are full of wonderful information and lots of members to help you along the way. :) Again welcome!!

I'm one of those American Spirit guys. I was always under the assumption that pure tobacco was better than formaldahyde, lacquer thinner, and a couple thousand additives. I haven't done any research on American Spirits but switched to those over 15 years ago. Now of course I vape. I find it interesting to read so many go out and try an analog out of curiosity and discover the taste is realy bad (along with the smell). My hope and prayer is that I will never ever put one of those things to my lips again. Cigarettes have been an integral part of life since forever ago (we used to steal them as kids from grocery stores and parent's cupboards).

Welcome to the ECF MrPlow! You'll enjoy it here thoroughly as everyone here is great, with lots of information. Cheers!

Just out of curiosity, were you also a smoker who switched to American Spirit thinking they were somehow "healthier"? I know that was my rationale. Stupid really when I look back at it. I see alot of people around here that seem to go from Brand "X" to American Spirit to vaping.

No, I actually smoked Camel Wides. I bummed the American Spirit off of a coworker.

How can one tobacco cigarette be healthier than another?

For awhile I was rolling my own. There is a tobacco shop close by that sold their own brand and pitched it as being healthier because it didn't have all of the same chemicals and additives that big name tobacco companies added.
Needless to say, they still stank and made me feel like crap. IF there was any health benefits, I doubt they were even noticeable.

I've only been e-ciggin for 4 weeks. I've got the ego-t and e9 models (got the e9 because i felt weird vapin the ego-t in public). so use the ego-t wen im in the house and the e9 wen im out and about. I havent bought a pack of tobacco in order to roll "pure" cigarettes since i became a vapesmen and as a result i've only spent £6 (25g) this month on tobacco (as i have other uses for it) down from spending about £3 a day (12.5g). Im still amazed i haven't gone back to smoking ciggys. I love this e-cig vibe --- i regret not looking into it last year as RyanAir were trying to sell them to me on a flight from Norway (i didn't have any cash on me at the time and so had to soldier the 2hr flight back home LOL) ---- Long Live The Vapesmen :)
