Hi there,

First, I want to say that this forum has been immensely helpful for me: I was completely lost in the internet mire of fake review websites and skeezy looking companies, so when I finally found the e-cigarette forum it was a huge relief, as there don't seem to be many other sources of accurate (i.e. user based) information on these products. I decided to quit smoking last week, after ten years, because I've found that in the last year my tobacco use has gone from 5-10 a day, to over a pack most days and my lungs hurt all the time. It's also effected my love life - Colorado is a healthy state and more people seem to be disgusted by smoking than not, so being a newly single smoker has been difficult in that regard. Perhaps it's starting to catch up to me because of how dry it is here in Colorado and my increased use, but regardless, I need to quit or in the least cut back to a few regular cigarettes a week. I'm an avid weight lifter, but I started smoking before I started lifting, so I'm really excited to see what I'll be able to do at the gym when I quit!

I have a Joyetech 510 battery with Boge 510 cartomizers, along with different juices and extra carts, on order from healthcabin (it seems like a trusted vendor for the users of this website), so I'll post reviews of the combo when they arrive. It seems the 510-t and the 901 are the favored brands here, but after going through lots of reviews and checking out some youtube videos, the regular 510 seemed to be a better fit, but we'll see. I had a Blu e-cig a few years ago and it was so unreliable that it put me off to vaping pretty quickly. I've been trying different disposables to help cut back on analogues while I wait for my rechargeable, so I'd like to post some reviews of the different brands I've used (one of which was actually a good value and worked very well, even though it tastes nasty), but there's a much appreciated post requirement here so I'll have to wait a while to do so.

There's a little about me in my profile as well, so I guess that's all for now. Thanks for making such a great forum!

p.s. If anyone needs help with their philosophy homework I'm going on to graduate studies for that field, so let me know. lol :)

Oh so glad to here you went to vapor. I know that lung feeling . I was a 2-4 cigar a day inhaling smoker. Took its toll. I think you'll like it. One thing that worked for me was to move from tobacco flavors quickly and to get rid of the Throat Hit. No at 1 month and counting I find tobacco revolting. I go out near the spot for smokers at one building I vape at and I find that smell is really bad now.
Glad to have you aboard welcome to ECF if you need any help ask. There are no stupid questions except the ones you don't ask.

Thanks everyone. It does seems like it can get expensive, but I figure if I can spend half the amount on e-cigarettes that I currently do on analogues every month, its a win/win situation.

I've actually always smoked american spirit cigarettes, and they taste/smell a lot different, so normal cigarettes gross me out anyway (they smell like ammonia!). How in the world do you get over the throat hit, steved? That's one of the things I really like about analogues and it's really the only reason I still use them instead - the blu ecig I had never delivered that, although I came across a disposable at a gas station that does a good job the other day, so it gave me some hope.

What are your favorite e-cig models for day to day use?

I have an assortment that I like. Really depends on my mood and stress levels which one I want on a given day. Pretty much for the KR808 type I prefer the Volt X2. I don't have any straight 510s, but in the eGo type I like Joye eGo and BetterLife eGos. My favorite most days of late is my eGo T Mod. It uses a 18650 battery (2200 mAh) that lasts ages...I like not having to worry about my battery losing it's charge. I also love the small Gripper from Madvapes (Discount Vapers has them, too). Once in a while I feel like a variable voltage model and I'll use the eGo Twist or the kGo VV. But that isn't real often.

The throat hit you are talking about has a lot to do with the volts of your battery with the ohm of the cartomizer/tank you are using. Here is a chart that can help you figure out how to pair things up. In the green zone in the middle is optimum. Generally around 6 to 8 watts is favored by the average vaper (but there are those reckless TH chasers who'll go a LOT higher...but that's gonna be hard on your equipment) Here's the chart: http://s1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii543/delanos53/?action=view&current=Ohn8o_zps0e082202.png

Happy Vaping!
