Hi all. I'm somewhat of an oddity here. I've never been a smoker, but I dipped Skoal and Copenhagen for quite a few years. I gave up that habit in June of this year and replaced it with snus. I got really tired of the cost of snus so decided to look for something that might get me off the tobacco habit completely. Like many people of my older age, I had no clue what to even search for on the internet, so I stopped at the TKO kiosk in our local mall. I ended up likely overpaying for a couple of itaste vv V3 setups and struggled along for a while with it. I kept hitting the snus and looking at the itaste and wondering what it was all about.

This past week I decided to figure out the itaste and went back to the kiosk and purchased a new iclear 16 to replace the silly looking reddish bottom fill tank that the sales guy talked me into last month. Long story even longer, I also added some more juice with a little higher nicotine content (10mg vs 6mg that I purchased before) and sat down and researched a little more about how to use this machine.

I was surprised to find that the itaste vv V3 is a pretty well thought of unit and that the iclear 16 is a good mini to pair with it. Anyhow, my nicotine delivery has improved greatly this week and I am really enjoying this unit.

I guess that's it.

Hi, Countrydirt, welcome to ECF!

As you have discovered, the right head makes a TREMENDOUS difference in the vape experience. I'm glad you found something that works for you! The VV V3 really is a nice battery, although it's somewhat limited in capacity, it's size and features are terrific.

While the iclear16 isn't particularly bad, there are some others that I think are much better.

You might want to look up the EVOD heads. These, and other bottom-coil clearos (BCC's) often give much better performance than the top-coil ones (the top-coil ones have those long wicks that sit in the e-liquid).

Here's what the evod (and a couple other BCC's) look like

Hello and welcome to the forum Countrydirt. Glad to have you here!:)

Glad to hear you have found something that works for you. One thing you should be aware of regarding plastic tanks. There are juices that will crack and/or etch them. Here is a great resource regarding "tank cracking" eliquid by ECF member Baditude: Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

Make sure to open all his links! Two of those links are:

* A blog post by ECF member The Ocelot titled "EEEKKK it's Melting".
* A "HUGE" list of juice and flavorings that may cause problems as far as cracking, fogging, or etching polycarbonate tanks (compiled by ECF member my4jewels).

Hi, countrydirt and welcome to the forum!

Nice story there, and glad you found something that you like quickly.

I agree with twgbonehead. The bottom coil heads are better than the top coil ones. You don't have to keep tilting your vape gear to keep the wicking wet with bottom coil units. The first two links he gave you are plastic (the transparent part) tanks. Those can react with some juices - especially citrus. The last two are glass and won't react with any juice. That's one of the reasons I have moved from plastic tanks to glass.

The last one (the Protank II) has a fixed drip tip (the part that goes in your mouth), meaning that you can't change drip tips if you like to do that sort of thing. The drip tip that comes with it is very nice, though, so that might be a problem for you. There's another version of the Protank Mini that has a removable drip tip. Here's a link for that type:
$6.26 Authentic Mini Protank 3 Dual Coil Clearomizer - translucent / 1.5ohm / 1.5ml at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Anyway, best of luck on your continuing journey and Happy Vaping!

Just checking back in to update. I do happen to have a full service store here in Southern Colorado - Vapor Source, so I popped in this morning and visited a bit with them. I picked up a KangerTech Aerotank Mini and some of their 12 mg juice and am enjoying the higher quality set up with the itaste vv V3. All is good and I am satisfying the nicotine urge.
