Hello from Florida, my story...

Hello everyone! First I'd like to say I am not only new this forum but I am new to vaping as well. This is my 2nd day of vaping :) Here's my story, I had at heart attack 8 years ago and have been a smoker forever. I knew then and there I needed to quit smoking!, however 8 years and several failed quitting attempts as well as 3 more heart attacks later. I found vapor and I had tried everything before even Chantix to quit smoking. I had my last heart attack one week ago and knew I wouldn't have another chance, this was my forth strike and I was still on plate. My doctor told me to try vaping since nothing else has worked, well I picked up a disposable e-cigarette and yesterday bought my first vape kit and have been tobacco free for a solid week.

I ended up since not knowing anything about it buying a part at a time, I got a Ego 650 bat. a Kangertech T3S tank, a couple extras coil/wick things and a couple bottles of juice. It's working out nicely even though I'm having a little leaking issue but I see this is a new lifestyle change for myself and wanted to join this forum to read and learn more about vaping's in&outs since I've been googling for 24 hours about what's what lol.

Anyway thanks for reading!

Rob

Welcome to ECF!! Congrats on quitting and congrats on surviving!!! ..:toast:

The eGo batteries are a great place to start, they are 510/eGo threaded so will fit many varied toppers. (the 510 and eGo is simply the type threading on the end of the battery:))

A bit of leaking is not uncommon with many tanks, cartomizers and other toppers. So long as it's only an occasional drop or two not too much worry. If you have any questions no matter how basic, just ask - there's always someone here that has seen it, and is willing to help....:vapor:

Welcome to ECF Rob. I'm sure you will find all the information you need here. The folks here offer great reviews on vape gear, juices and other info as well.
Like you, I tried many different ways to quit smoking and this is the only thing that actually worked. I'm on my fourth month cig free and I don't plan on smoking another. Look around the site, read the reviews and decide what gear and juices are best for you. You will never miss the stinkies again

Hi, Rob I live in Paradise as well (but lower Alabama is more like it). I'm glad you made the first step into a completely different life, thats what Vapeing is a life style. Lots to enjoy about it even past the fact that you are now a NON SMOKER :rickroll: This forum is the greatest resource anywhere for people who need advice, support, and just good company from like minded souls. I would like to offer you a small bit of advice. Get yourself at least 1 more battery, a 1100 or a 1300 milli amp hour would be the best cheap option. If you have a few nickles to rub togeather and would like something to play with a Vision Spinner 1300-1600 mah battery is sweet. I like the T3S clearomizer too and have found that if I draw gently on inhale it doesn't gurgle (flood). If it's leaking check to see if the bottom gasket is inplace, mine has fallen off several times when I've cleaned mine, that can cause leaking. I also have had leaking if I over fill my tank and it gets into the center tube. a paper towel twisted and run down the whole in the mouth piece to wick up extra sometimes helps. Hope you stick around, theres' so much great information here and you'll feel right at home. Promise. :)

Thanks to all of you for the welcomes and replies. :) So far it's been 26 days since I quit smoking and I feel better than ever. The vaping has me free of the ash dropping nasties and only cravings I have is for more vapor. I've still only tried the 2 flavors so far (which one is a tobacco flavor blend, and the other is one called "The Yummy" which suppose to be a white chocolate/strawberry mix.) but I look forward to trying new flavors and have been too numerous sites "window shopping" for new flavors and batts and tanks. I have found a few items that i really want :) I did pick up another 900mah ego batt. along with 3 ce4's for back up, but I have my sights set on a 1300mah variable passthrough batt and either a kanger evod or a protank but unsure which yet lol.

As far as my health so far I'm getting my strength back and beginning to walk more and exercise better, I truly believe the quitting smoking has made a major improvement mainly due to the fact that during my last Dr. appt. I was taken fully off the blood pressure meds I had been on for a few years. I still in the back of my mind worry at times that even the vaping may hurt me "like cause fluid on my lungs lol" but over 2 weeks in and I breath much better and no coughing anymore worth noticing like I did while smoking the ash nasties. Anyway thanks again and I look forward to posting more as i progress and go farther in my vaping world.

Oh i do have one question.. VG or PG or VG/PG what does what and is there a better or just personal choice? the 2 juices I have are a 60/40 pg.vg I find them ok but they don't produce much vapor and at times seem a little weak on the inhale. Also though I'm not sure as too what fluids is best to use in my T3S "or ce4" because I've read about tank busters and all, I plan on getting a glass in the future so I won't have the worry.

Hey Rob1, welcome to ECF and the wonderful world of vaping :)

On the PG/VG question it's really up to individual taste and what your looking for. PG tends to carry flavor slightly better and give you more throat hit as well as being thinner and generally wicking better in most devices. VG provides much more in the way of vapor and is much thicker bodied. 50/50 is a good place to start, kinda the best of both worlds.

Some folks have allergies that may dictate what they vape, generally the allergies are to PG.

As far as cracking plastic tanks, avoid cinnamon and banana flavors until you have glass tanks. There's a whole thread around here somewhere of other tank busters, I'll look and post a link.

Here ya go http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-juices-flavors-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos.html

Enjoy the journey!

Regarding PG/VG ratios, I started with 50/50 blends because I didn't know which was supposed to be better. Why not have a little of both!! ..:2cool:
Now years later the 50/50 blend is still my go to ratio, I get the best of both worlds...

Moving up you might look at a MVP-2, it has easy controls, VV and VW, no extra batteries or charger to buy, fit 510 and eGo connections, high capacity battery that will can also be used in pass-through mode. And best of all it's reasonably priced, usually around $40. I've owned a variety of mods and it's one of my everyday go to models.

Hello, Rob . . . Welcome to the ECF vaping community, brother.

Pleased to read of you progress, thus far. We are here for you and rooting for you. ;)

With regard to the pg/vg ratio, I initially started at 50pg/50vg. Recently, pg has started to make me itchy. As such, I have adjusted some my juices to a 30pg/70vg mix. it appears to be working.

I trust that you are having a fabulous vaping journey.

Welcome. I am new here as well and also in the Fl Sun and sand. The best combo I found when I started was the vision spinner II and a kanger aero. But have moved up to a hana modz V3 and tobh atty dripper. And that has put me in a whole new world of vaping. Good luck with staying off the sick sticks. Vaping has been my savior.
