Hi everyone! I recently joined the forum and wanted to quickly introduce myself. I'm a 38 y/o french dude and I've been a smoker for about 15 years. I quitted smoking on 19 February 2014 right after purchasing my first e-cig devices (Vision Spinner, EVOD BCC, Aspire BDC, Protank II) and so far, it has been a very satisfying experience.

That being said, I'm curious by nature so I started to spend time on forums, watch videos, etc to learn more about hardware, rebuilding coils, wick materials, battery safety even though I don't own any mod or rebuildable atty (yet).

And this is how I discovered ECF and its community, there are great threads here on the above topics (in particular battery safety and wick materials).

So I wanted to say thanks for sharing all this good stuff, feedback, knowledge and also for the hard work. Awesome place guys!

Wow, good writing in English. Yes, there is a lot to be learned on here. Sometimes it is on here, but I don't find it and have to ask. As a hobby, which it has become for me, I enjoy snooping around.

Anyway, welcome to ECF!! *waves from Arizona*
Thanks! I totally understand how snooping around can become a hobby, I enjoy doing so too.

Welcome ipodah! I just picked up my first e-cig today (The Itaste MVP) I must say I am satisfied and hope I'll never smoke another cigarette again! Been smoking for 6 years half a pack a day.
Thanks and congratulations! I used to smoke 10-12 cigarette per day and in my case, vaping made quitting almost easy and not frustrating at all. I wish you the same. Good luck on your vaping journey!

Thank you.

Yes, there are physical vape shops in my area (and all of them also have a website with lower pricing, interestingly enough). For my purchase, and since I don't feel comfortable being a noob in front of shop assistant, I gathered information on a french forum before going to a shop to get more advice, test the sales speech, and test some gear. That went well but they couldn't provide everything I was looking for in a kit so I ended up buying one online.

Pleased to meet you ipodah. I am very new, I've just started about 80 hours ago, but have avoided the tobacco so far. I never dreamed how easy to quit it might be as the vaping does seem to fulfill the habit as well as the urges. I'll echo the point that your english is excellent and I wish us both luck staying off the stinkies! Welcome!

Something just occurred to me, do you have a back-up? I wanted to make sure that I didn't want to have an excuse. I would consider a PV that is a step up and use the Vision Spinner as a back-up.

Mine:
MVP2
Vision Spinner 1300

I have a couple of others, but they are detailed to other uses.
I didn't want to have an excuse as well so I went for a kit with 2 Spinner 1300, as suggested by more experienced vapers. At that point, I wasn't even getting the point of all these "huge" mods and "funky" attys, I just wanted to quit smoking and these batteries were already a big change in terms of size, which was somehow a concern for me.

But I guess I've gotten used to the size of e-cig devices, not a concern anymore, and I'm starting to consider getting something more advanced. Not decided yet though.

Thanks for sharing this.
