Hi, everyone -

I am the Cheshire Goat, and I have been tobacco free since January!

I started vaping about a month after I quit smoking as I was close to going back to cigarettes. I began using NJoy, then Blu, then Greensmartliving disposables. The GSL ecigs changed the flavor on me (I can't stand them now!) so I decided to look for a new and better way.

I hit a local vape shop here in Houston and bought an Ego C Twist, Aspire DBC cleartomizer, and a couple bottles of CRFT juice (Lime Cola and Trail Mix) and dove in! I see now I could have saved money by ordering online, but I am helping the local guy here, which is a good thing.

Now I am learning about batteries, mods, juices - VG and PG, cleartomizers, etc etc etc. and having fun with it!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello, and thank everyone for the reading so far! Great resource here.

It's good to support local businesses when you can. You pay a little more, but especially in my state, they are also on the front lines protecting vaping rights.

My fear with local stores is seeing them go the way of the dot com period. There are so many new stores around here that competition is fierce. Don't get me wrong....it's not cut throat (yet) and most of the store owners know each other, but business is business!

I like to support the local shops when I can, but I think I will order my next battery online. Anyway, I'll buy some stuff there - like juices, as they let me try them!

Hello and welcome fellow Houstonian. I assume you went to the store on Westheimer? There's a fairly new store on i10 and Heights Blvd. This city is freaking huge yet we only have like 3 vape shops. Many of which are at least a 20 min drive from down town, it's ridiculous.

Double Helix - yes, I went to the vape shop on Westheimer (it's pretty close to home)

I need to look at the I10 shop an see what it's all about! Do you prefer it to the Westheimer shop?

The I10 shop specializes more in mech mods though I do believe they carry some other mods. They do have a nice selection of those specialty/custom ejuices. The juices are more expensive than the other store but they're about the same price as you would find online.

So it comes down to preference. If you like mech mods and those fancy juices that come with 4-5 different flavors then it's definitely worth checking out.

Thanks for the info, Double Helix. It's gonna be awhile before I know what juices I like and don't like! I will say that the CRFT Trail Mix is fantastic - kinda like having some rum with a light cigar. The Lime Cola is less enjoyable. I'll probably hit that shop and see what's up over there.

Hi guys, I'm happy to see my fellow Texans on here! I'm from Colmesneil, which is in East Texas. I have been vaping for about 6 weeks now, as a way to ditch the analogs. There are no vape shops in my area, so I have purchased all my supplies online. I'm glad to see the shops that ya'll mentioned, I'll have to check them out the next time i'm in Houston. Not sure when I'll be up to Dallas , but I'll keep the one DL2962 mentioned in mind when I am.
