Hello from London + no flavour Protank mini rebuild

HI

Been vaping for about a year now. I am using a Kanger protank mini 3, since a few weeks ago I was just replacing the coils with new ones.

I have built 4 coils so far and the first one was a bit rubbish to tell the truth no vape. The fourth is vaping good but I am dragging on it so much trying to get a flavour.

I am just 32 gauge kanthal with 2mm silica. 6 windings around the silica then half a wick on top to stop flooding.

But I do not seem to be getting the same flavour as if I were to use a new coil. Can anyone help?

Thanks Tom

Tommy, Hi!

You are searching for an impossible dream. Wrapping some wire around a piece of Silica is doomed to fail.

The only way to get a really good vape is to make a microcoil and use cotton wool or rayon as your wick. If you are going to do this, you'd be better off with a mini Protank 1 or 2.

In all seriousness, hand-wrapped around Silica is inferior, no matter how good a job you do.

Sorry to tell you.

Agreed above posts. I could never get a great vape out of silica. Only when I went micro coils and cotton/Rayon did I really start to enjoy vaping. There are so many videos online and links to builds here etc. Best advice ditch the silica. I only found that out after buying every type there is out there and it all sitting in my draw.
