glad i found this thread going to have to bookmark it, as later today i am ordering some kanthal wire for my own protank project. it was suggested in another post and the irc chat that i get 32 gauge kanthal to rebuild with for my PT3 on my Vamo V3. i am no longer liking the way stock coils wick. not enough flavor no matter the juice or power settings i use.

yeap! protanks are sturdy, but the only thing i dont like is the rubber grommet tends to scorch a little.

*Just an update guys, not all sterile cotton balls are 100% cotton!! I just bought a pack of surgical grade cotton balls. it writes at the botton *sterilised by irradiation. Irradiation leaves no residue, but the cotton balls are cotton and rayon fibre blends. So, im probably not gonna use them until i know what is rayon fibre ;)

Thanks for the quick reply everyone!

I tend to get condensation when i remove the drip tip after half tank and its quite a lot, maybe 2 drops. Anyone else has this?

for cotton, can i use my 33guage nichrome?

The 'vapor trap' created by adding the removable drip tip feature to a BCC tank is the price you pay. Each time you draw vapor from your tank you leave a small amount in the trap. This builds up over time to the point of causing the tank to gurgle while still vaping normally. Just remove your drip tip periodically and mop out the 'vapor trap' with the corner of a paper towel of tissue.

Mostly because the stock kanger coils (in my personal experience) are inconsistent, can't take the heat for tobacco juices, and don't last very long with higher vg blends. I have also noticed that dry burning them (to clean them up after the higher vg juices/ tobacco blends) can be tricky to do without damaging the wick material itself. Just my 2c. I'm no master by any means.

That said, my girlfriend uses the stock coils for a month at a time with no issues whatsoever. She vapes 50/50 fruit juices at reasonable voltages. I tend to vape higher VG and tobaccos and stock kanger coils don't live for very long.

I have been vaping on the original 10 coils I have bought 7 months ago. Only I recoil them and rewick them myself. Usually with xc-116 or hemp anywhere from 1ohm to 1.8 ohm depending on what atty (I have protanks, mini protanks and a handful of evod's) and what device (Mech or ego type vv pen.)

    No you can't
I still don't understand why folks rebuild a coil that only costs $2.99 to replace?

Protank Coil cost less than $ 0.10 each that's a savings of $2.89 per coil and choice of wicking material like cotton.

$ 5.89 for 30 foot of wire and a bag of cotton $3.79 enough of supplies to make over 90 coils and still have cotton left over.
