Hello from New Orleans, I luckily came across this website full of wisdom. I am trying to quit and I truly feel this is my way out. I guess my biggest question to start is Which one to start with and how to go about it? I heard green-smoke and BLU are good companies but I still gotta ask. I smoke about a pack of marlboro ultra lights a day.

I read through the threads and started with a 510. Then the KR808. I really wish I had just jumped in with a mod like the Ego, Chuck, Vypr or my beautiful new Saber Touch. Would've saved some serious bucks. FWIW, I smoked a pack to a pack and a half (on a bad day) of Marlboro Lights/ Ultra Lights. The Ego batteries, when I carry both, last all day. Look around for the best price and make sure you buy at least 3 attys and lots of juice. If you go for another mod, you will want 2 sets of batteries. Nothing worse than having stuff die and no backups.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am guessing that the brands I mentioned before are either overpriced and overrated or not all thier cracked up to be. The green smoke sounded nice due to the fact it had a built in automizer with each cart

If you think, (now), you're gonna like the built in atomizer, (carto), you can get that with a longer lasting, (runtime between charges), battery, (Batt), in several models of eCigs. Those models that resemble cigarettes, regulars and 100mm's, can be fitted with a carto. But, the batt runtime is pretty short. Means you then need to carry extra batt(s) in a PCC, (Personal Charging Case), or have some other way to charge during the day. Probably far and away the majority of people starting out have gone this route. Most wish they hadn't after learning of other alternatives that are available now. Myself, I'm now using an eGo class clone. This class uses a somewhat larger diameter batt, and either a 510 atty/cart, (three piece), or 510 cartomizer, (Carto), in this case then 2 piece. Rather, it's native to that size/threading. It's possible to get adapters to connect other threaded cartomizers to that batt. I don't want to fog you with a bunch of crap that's going to just keep you confused. Like I started to say, I use an eGo class battery, w/510 cartomizer's. One of these batteries and one carto will last me an 8 hour shift at work, (30 min drive to/from & an hour lunch). Taking breaks 5 or so minutes once an hour. (And I still carry a spare batt and carto just in case). My biggest problem when I first started was getting a larger selection of 3mL samples to test, to determine what strength nicotine I needed and which flavors I preferred. And that my friend, is really all trial and error. I gave the cigarette look-a-likes to family members that expressed an interest in wanting to try eGigs. I'm sure others on this forum, more qualified than I, will have something to add to what I've suggested.
Good luck with quitting,
Cheers,
otrpu

Lots say the eGo (cignot.com, litecigusa.net) is great. Personally, I like cartomizers (less hassle), but you could buy both 510 cartomizers and atomizers, drip tips, cones, or carts. Takes time to figure out what works for you. I use the kr808 from vapor4life, but i am awaiting the arrival of my eGo, and from what i hear, it is gonna blow me away. lol

Wouldn't recommend blu just because of the bad reviews i have heard. But darn those things look cool!

Hi and welcome! I just joined today (well, yesterday) so I'm new too. I did my weeks' worth of research and reading and finally chose Eluma to start out with. They're "easy" to use with a two-part system, as opposed to (what I consider) more advanced 3+ part ecigs with atomizers, battery, cartridge, liquid to drip, buttons to push - uh! Too complicated for this noob.

So I went with Eluma and almost went with Green but Eluma was cheaperrrrrrrrrrr!! And got good reviews on other sites. I'm a 2pack a day smoker of Marl Menthols full stregnth so I'm dying of curiosity to see if ecigs compare.

Let's try this new journey together!

If you like the idea of a 2-piece e-cig, I would recommend the KR808D-1 from Vapor4Life. The manual batteries (XL) are the best. They have a great product, a huge selection of cartomizer and juice flavors/strengths, and terrific customer service.

I haven't smoked since I started using my VaporKing over eight months ago, and I was a 37+ year smoker. It works. Good luck!

thanks everybody! i ordered the 510 from cignot for 65$ with some extra fluids. Maybe i will try the ego battery on the 510 but i dont like how thick the ego battery looks. the only thing i wasnt sure about was the two 5ml bottles of liquid that came with the package deal were 25mg of nicotine each. I am not sure if this will be too much for me to handle. I am a 1 pack a day marlboro ultra light smoker

Hey NOfd, I grew up in that city and loved it. I think that's a drum in your picture, loved catching those 40lb drum and redfish in the gulf... Anyways

Just a warning, prepare to spend money. To me this isn't like cigs. It's like a hobby now. I just bought my first PV and now I'm looking to get another one... Oh well better than turning my lungs black.
