Hello,

I used to really love smoking -- a cigarette could make anything better . . . . If I could smoke one cigarette a day, I would, but it's either none or 1 pack a day for me -- I can't "social" smoke. I smoked for 27 years and quit last July using Zyban. The Zyban helped but I was about to start smoking again after about 4 weeks because I just really, really missed smoking. I was searching on-line for nicotine replacement to help with the desire to smoke and came across articles for e-cigs. I had not heard of anything like them . . . . I don't know anyone who vapes. Most of the Ex-smokers I know have become pious against any sort of tobacco or nicotine.

Went to Walgreen's and bought disposable Njoys and used them for about a month -- wasn't great but kept me from smoking. Then I went to a tobacco shop and they had Logic's which are better than njoy -- but still maybe are only 20% as good as smoking :)

I am reading about how much everyone on the site enjoys vaping -- are there set ups or products that are as good as a Marlboro Light? Or a higher percentage than 20%? I realize this is a preference . . . . but I am interested in hearing from others.

i usually recommend an evod starter kit for ease of use and consistency of the vape to newer users. then all you have to do is find that perfect liquid ....you are probably not going to find a tobacco flavor that exactly mimics a marlboro so don't limit your flavor choices . i personally really enjoy the dessert flavors.

Hi, and welcome! Ha ha... you love cigarettes... I did too, but haven't had one in 2 1/2 months and don't want one now!

There is definitely juice higher than 20%. Lots of vendors sell 36% (I suspect you'll find that too strong but it wont hurt to try).

Finding a good juice has been a problem for me. What I've found is good enough, but tobacco flavors can be tricky, and none will really taste like a burning cigarette. You'll be glad of that in a few weeks, I'm sure. I actually like the American Tobacco from a local (to me) shop called Blackhat (Your #1 Source For E-Cigarettes & E-Cigarette Supplies | Blackhat E-Cigarettes), but they're not very well known, and like I say, I'm still looking for a really good tobacco flavor.

Lots of options on hardware. I use the Innokin iTaste vv v3.0 and love it, and recommend it. But you'll no doubt get plenty of other advice as well, and you just need to look at the products online and decide what suits you.

Anyway, do some reading, and then don't fret too much over; just make a purchase and jump in. The merchandise is not so expensive that you can't upgrade down the road.

Good luck!

biggest thing to realize is that no e-cig will ever have the true taste of smoking. With that out the way most of the standard battery stuff won't be much better in terms of production then the disposables. Most will quickly upgrade to a itaste vv set up or a ego vv (twist, spinners) just keep in mind they will be a bit larger about the size of a sharpie.

with those types of batteries you will be able to adjust the voltage, which can increase/decrease the flavor, the vapor output and the throat hit(what I missed the most in the beginning). Some will even come with a topper like the iclear's, protank(1,2,3) which you would need to fill with liquid on your own.

I smoked for 10 years 2-3 packs a day and haven't had to purchase a pack in over 2 years of vaping. on year 3 now and 1st year was rocky as the gear wasn't as good as it is now and I didn't monitor my liquid level and would often run out.

I'm here, when I'm here
Welcome to the forum! There are countless set ups out there. Ego, Itaste MVP and VV v3, Smok, Kangertech and the list goes on. Nic strengths can go from 0 to 26+ but, imho, not recommended. Again, imho, if I could look back, I would have started with a itaste vv v3 and a Kanger Mini Protank instead on a ego set up.

Let us know if you need any other advise or any other questions you might have. We're here to help ya! :D

Happy (future) Vaping!! :vapor:

A cig, for me, meant going someplace outside and probably alone. So, smoking a cigarette was a chance to relax and/or get my head together. With vaping, I just make sure I do the same.

I also found tabacco ejuice was worthless because it did not replicate my smoking. Some still taste okay, but other flavors are much more enjoyable.

Good luck Lajes! there are better setups that will get you beyond 20% as good as a cig. I started with tobacco flavors, and dropped it pretty quick. NOTHING will replace the feeling of real smoke going into your lungs, so why taste tobacco if that is the case? Zebra stipe gum flavor is my go to for the last month or so. Tastes vary of course.

Get a real EGO Twist, or if you can an Innokin vv3, and maybe a protank mini 2 and a couple of juices from E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Juice - Mt Baker Vapor and see how it goes. if you find a good deal you're looking at around $50 to give it good try.

NOTHING will replace the cig completely, I am sorry to say. I would say look for a vape shop in your area, but that can be hit or miss on what you will get, and you will for sure pay too much.

I always recommend starting with a variable voltage battery since you'll likely move to one soon after starting anyway. The Ego twist and vision spinner are both good batteries to start out on. Don't worry about the numbers when it comes to adjusting the voltage, be more concerned with flavor and vapor. When you find a setting you like, look at what it's set to so you then have a reference point. As far as toppers (atomizer/tank) go, I can't personally recommend anything, as I'm using only rebuildables now. There will be plenty of suggestions by others who are more familiar with the fill and go devices so you'll be good to go there. Good luck and happy vaping.

Hey Klynnn,

Seaford has the best Friendly's Restaurant on the Eastern Shore -- I stop there every time I go to Dover to get a Mocha Fribble. Delaware also used to have great tobacco stores until a few years ago . . . . I used to drive to Delmar to buy my cartons of Marlboro lights because they were so much cheaper.

Thanks for the link -- i checked it out and it looks great. Ordering the juice and kits is confusing, but this package looks easy enough to use. I have not really thought about ordering the flavors, but everyone here is suggesting it so I think I will order the sampler.

East new market here - and I'll have to check out the vape shop, I heard there is one in kent island too, I'm not sure where though.

EDIT: Yeah, there is a spot in Easton, just search in google "vaporalley" and you should find their website.

(just use the link, didn't know it was an ECF-approved shop. That's kinda cool that is it though!)

Welcome to the ECF. You found the right place to discover Vape. Take a good look around to see what is available. Unfortunately vaping is a progressive learning [d]disease[/s] umm, hobby. To get the total vape satisfaction out of ones gear, they first must acquire some knowledge and skill to be able to get the most from ones vape. At the minimum an ego style battery and a changeable coil atomizer is where to start. A better option would be a regulated Variable mod, like an VV V3, MVP V2, Provari, Vamo, or SID. Go with some good changeable atomizer like the Aspire Nautilus and you'd have a great start on vaping.

The best thing one can do is see what's available, what best suits your needs and goals, then find the best deal on that. Choose a quality device, because it is an investment on your life.
