Hi All,

I've been vaping and lurking on the forum now for 7 weeks (4 weeks without analogs) and thought it was time to say hi as a confirmed convert! I've been using the Smokeless Image Volt automatic batteries (both sizes) as well a cheap manual battery that got me started.

While I like the Volts, I find a charge will last about 1/2 - 2/3 rds of a day of medium vaping. Is this consistent with any other Volt users on the forum are experiencing or could there be a problem with my charger? I only ask as the reviews I read mentioned it lasting all day.

Lasting all day? Oh well, I am a chain vaper and I can tell you that the small battery lasts only an hour for me whereas the 78mm lasts 1,5 hour! I guess I am also a heavy vaper, too :)
Nevertheless, the comfort and the size of these batteries beats the fact that I have to have at least 5 batteries with me to last me all day...Otherwise, I use my Ego-T 1100 maH and that lasts me at least 2 days.

I get about 3 hours out of small batteries. It's doable if you keep one charging while you're vaping one. I got tired of doing that and got an eGo 1000 Mah battery. Now I have a mod with a 2600 Mah battery that holds a charge for over 30 hours.

About the time you get tired of charging batteries might be a good time look at mods. I like my Indulgence V3 from Elitevaporworks, but there are a lot of good mods around.

If you are a moderate vaper and want something to last all day then you have to skip over slim ecigs and go to fat battery models and mods.

Volt battery mah
65mm - 220mah
78mm - 320mah
xl - 420mah

If I can assume you are using a normal Volt carto (which is about the low end of standard resistance - you should go no lower on a slim ecig) then rule of thumb is 100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping with standard resistance

If you want to use Volt and vape all day without charging, then buy more batteries and chargers and vape a pair and carry 2 other charged ones (I vape 2 models, each with a contrasting flavor cartomizer and a charged spare). OR find a Volt or 3.6/3.7v KR808D-1 (Volt threading) passthrough - the 3.6/3.7v ones have a real inline battery and are suitable for your current cartomizers. The ones that go direct to power are normally 5v, may singe your cartos, and requires a separate AC to USB 2amp (2000mA) output adapter (not a PC USB port) and I would recommend such an adapter for any passthrough.

Thanks jtracc, maybe I'm not a medium vaper afterall :) I live in Waterloo region so not too far from the GTA. - remember the $11 packs too. It went down to about $7 for premium brands when black market smokes became a big problem. There back up to around $10 for 25 of the premium brands but you can get Paul Malls for about 7.50. Still not a cheap habbit.

Thanks dormouse. The formula you mention is prety accurate with my limited experience using the volt carts and ce2's. I'm glad I ordered a few batteries so I can carry a few on me and not worry about running out. With the cig case I modifed, it still works out to be less "gear" than a pack of smokes & lighter so I don't mind.

I was thinking about getting a pass through but felt it might be awkward with the wires. What's been your experience using them?
