Newer to vaping. Been smoke free about 2 months now. Haven't been the best of times, with tank issues & just finding what I want to smoke but I'm sticking with it. Just want to find something I'm happy vaping.

I own:

Evic Vt w/ a junky leaking ego one mega tank
ileaf 30w
Subtank mini tank - Currently have on the evic vt (trying to figure out how to get rid of the metallic taste on the .5 mouth to lunging.
Freemax Starre tank - Seem to cough every time I try taking a mouth to lung w/ this one. Can go 7-8 seconds easy on the subtank though. Idk.
Nautilus mini tank - have on the ileaf. Smoke this a good month & until I purchased new tanks for the evic.
Emow mega - dont really use anymore, was my starter & I hated it. No taste & lack of vapor for me.

Will continue to be active around here & try to learn some things.

Have you washed the subtank mini? When I buy a tank or something I completely take it apart as much as I can and wash it. Sometimes things come with machine oil.

Are you using the 0.25 ohm or 0.5 ohm coil for the Starre tank? 0.5 isn't generally considered a MTL resistance. Usually above 1.0 ohm is.

No, haven't washed anything. Kinda assumed it came ready to go lol.

The starre has .5 in it. Didn't even want this tank but for $9.99 & free shipping I couldn't pass it up. Ego one that came w/ the evic vt has been a nightmare as well as joyetech support so I gave up on the ego all together.

Vids/reviews I watched on the starre say the .25 is best around 80w & the highest i have is the 60w evic so haven't bothered trying it.

Vaping the subtank mini w/ .5 on the evic around 30w. 40 seems to give the metallic taste & 20 doesn't seem much different than 30.

Are you lung-hitting or vaping like you used to smoke? I suggest installing the 1.8 ohm coil that came with that subtank mini, closing the airflow all the way to the smallest setting, filling it with a 12 or 18 mg juice you like and do some nice, slow mouth-to-lung hits at around 13-15 watts. You'll forget the analogs in no time. Sub-ohm, lung-hit vaping isn't for everyone and since you're relatively fresh off the cigs, you might want to put that aside until you get your vaping feet wet. Just a suggestion from a fellow "Burgher".

I'm down to 6mg from the 18/24 i started on 2 months ago. Was surprised to find out smoking 1-2 packs a day I could do 6 fine. I lung hit the subtank mini good and actually prefer it. Even mouth to lung'ing the 1.2 coil that came with it has been good for me with 6mg. Put the 1.2 in today just to smoke on some 12mg stuff I bought. Don't want to waste it! Just find hitting the starre is rough. Might be the crazy amount of airflow but I cough before I even get half a hit. Thinking about upgrading to something like the xcube 2 with tfv4. Might be a little too soon for that but I can work my way into it.

Never used to Starre but I do know with some builds/tanks, 6mg is even too much. PG/VG ratio can also be a factor. Might want to try a 3 in that sucker or a higher VG and see how that does you.
