Hello :)

Just thought I'd stick my head above the parapet and say hi!

Me and my husband have been vaping for about 5 months. I'm a bit of a tinkerer, so I've been reading all about coiling, mods and stuff, and practicing away like mad. I've found loads of useful help here - especially as I started out knowing absolutely nothing at all.

My current weapon of choice is micro coils and cotton wool wicks in a cheap dripper, with my husband's homemade juice.

Merry Christmas everyone x

Hello! I've never considered squonking, in all fairness. I was considering stumping up for a kayfun type clone (maybe, or maybe an ithaka clone) to see if the hype is well deserved. Maybe I should look longer at squonking first .... my husband can't understand my love of the cheap and nasty dripper, but somehow it just works for me.

I'm loving the idea of the cockney rhyming slang, but I'm afraid you'd probably lose me too, not just the 'merkins - I be from Darzit .... and everyone knows what they say about Darzit lasses ......

"Darzit born and Darzit bred - strong in the arm and thick in the head"

Well, I grew up in the South East (not anywhere Cockney mind), but live in Bath now. So yes, we'd both have to make it up as we went along... :)

The KFL+ is awesome, and still my favourite atomiser. Very forgiving to build, but produces beautiful, thick vapour. I'm also a fan of the Cyclone / Cyclops, which is a bit more of a hassle to build, being dual coil, and is an actual dripper... I only use it for a treat.

But the Reo / Reomizer is an amazing setup for its sheer simplicity and reliability, while still producing that dripping flavour intensity. I use SS mesh wick, and there's almost literally zero maintenance. Great for an everyday runabout.

There are cheaper options around too...

Tell him I apologise for our one way system :)

I just use a chef's torch for making microcoils.

You don't need it for SS wicks - you can just burn juice on them with a lighter a few times, works fine. You'll get shorts at first, but if you keep firing it for a second or two and rotating the wick if it shorts eventually it stops. Keep adding more juice to create oxides and a bit of gunk, and gradually increase the firing duration and voltage as you go. Might take 1/2 an hour, but a wick can last a month. And use a short-circuit protected mod for the build, and high drain IMR batteries always.

But yes, do some research - I can't attest to the quality of the VMOD, just heard them mentioned as a cheaper alternative. I actually think the Reo is very reasonably priced for what it is, but can understand why some might feel hesitant to commit that much cash to something they're not sure they'll like...

Good luck in your quest!

Hehehe! That raised a grin out of him! :D

I must admit, I'm tighter than a duck's a*se (being proper Darzit), so I have to be totally sure before I part with cash .... I would rather spend out more though and get the right thing, then buy lots of tat. Saying that, I have no problem living with flaws or tinkering to improve them if the price is right. That link looks like a nice bit of kit though ..... thank you!

I've got a super duper fake leopardskin covered dash and doors in mine, bloke in Sherborne who I got mine from gets them all up and running then sells them for cheap to buy a new project, great fun :)

Ah you must orientate from the posh part of the county, its all cowpats and more cowpats up here in the north part ;)

Yes Turlin Moor isn't likely to be opening its own branch of Harrods soon I imagine, I love Bournemouth and Poole, probably better than London now and I go over there a lot on my custom Vespa for big meets and stuff.

Doesn't seem to be many places here in Dorset mind for vapers apart from the disposables from the supermarkets, I was considering doing Yeovil and Frome markets with a little stall and some kits and bits for the beginners but Yeovil refused me a licence and Frome isn't as good as it used to be.

Welcome from the shadows. I haven't started tinkering on the rebuilds yet. Right now I am tinkering with DIY juice so that has taken up most my budget and spare time.

Ha, indeed - you obviously know your Poole beauty spots ;)

My dad is a Vespa man - my steed is a little nippier, a Suzuki Bandit 1250 .... :) Do you ever go to bike night on the quay?

Hello & welcome nin26 from not very sunny Cornwall :D

DelboyinDorset there are a few Bricks & Mortar shops for vapers in Dorset (far more than in Cornwall), have a look at this map -

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=215709227017751563123.0004e116abe884acfc184&msa=0&ll=56.0475

There's a new branch of Vaper Trails on Ashley Road in Poole that's not on the map - they've just started selling Innokin mods (VTR, 134 and MVP 2) and are starting to get the odd rba in too. :)

Thanks nin26 - I've now added them to the map :)
