Ha, indeed - you obviously know your Poole beauty spots ;)

My dad is a Vespa man - my steed is a little nippier, a Suzuki Bandit 1250 .... :) Do you ever go to bike night on the quay?

I used to but tend not to now as I avoid an ex who drinks in the Sailor and she is a woman scorned I should say and has a leetle bit of a temper on her o_O

Good on your dad too, anything with two wheels (or three) is my thing, one of the locals wants to swap one of my Vespa's for one of his big beastie bobber jobs, big phat rear wheel, lots of matt black and chromey bits, proper heavy duty sort of thing

Oh, I've always loved anything two wheels - was riding on the foot plate of my dad's vespa around a field when I was really little, then on the back when I was 5 years old, until I went out and got my own scoot at 16. Then I went onto an RXS100, took my test and went from there. My husband is a biker too - we got married on the bikes, and went on honeymoon on the bikes across France, Portugal and Spain to the Faro motorcycles rally with a load of equally mad bikers, two of whom were also on their honeymoon!

If you ever brave the quay, mine is the dark blue, fully faired 1250 bandit. It'll be parked next to a Versus 1000 in the brownish colour :)

I had a Cagiva Mito for a while.

It didn't really do much in the way of going anywhere. Quite a lot of sitting in a garage broken, in fact. I think for two reasons: it wanted to run at 9000 rpm, and being my first bike, I wasn't so sure about that. And being Italian, I don't think it was especially fond of our weather, either... (speaking of which... Cripes. It really is a bit blustery out there :) )

Still, good memories. Ride quality affectionately described as "like a pair of spanners in a washing machine" :)

My daughters friend has an Aprilia faired motorcycle and he's having the same "bag o' bolts" problems, his dad has rebuilt the engine twice and goes to super clacky/noisy/scary within a week of the most gentle of throttle and road driving, a shame as it looks the business but it seems some Italian bikes are really friday afternoon builds :(

If I do get this big bad quacking bobber hardtail thingy my friend wants to swap with, I might wander down the quay as it would look more within the crowd than my airbrushed Vespa, wonder if Nobby still goes round there in his blue Reliant Regal car :D
