I have been lurking on these forums for a few months now, and decided it was about time to register.

I had been a pipe smoker since my father introduced me to it when i was 15. So i guess about 8 years of smoking a pipe will give you a bit of a dependency on it. Recently my wife and I had a child, and I promised I wouldn't smoke around the baby. Needless to say this caused me some serious stress, so i began looking for ways to cut back or quit.

Thanks to this awesome forum, and a 510 starter kit I started with e-cigs a few months ago. After the first week I couldn't even smoke my real pipe anymore!

I recently decided I needed less maintenance and less refills for vaping at work. I ordered a EGO-T kit to give it a try. It should be arriving any minute now! Any tips or advice related to the ego-t would be greatly appreciated. I have read the reviews and seen the huge differences in opinion related to the device. I decided to take the risk anyways, as if i happened to be someone that enjoyed it then it would be a good investment. And if i didn't i can always stick on a old 510 to my new 1000mah battery. :2cool:

Thank you very much for the welcome!

I have seen the epipmods and browsed through them for quite awhile. Maybe in the future I may consider one... But 150 for just the battery compartment is a bit steep for me. I have also looked at 601s.. But not being able to replace the atomizer is a serious design flaw IMHO. Are there any other pipe mods that are a bit more realistic pipe sized and priced for a guy with a kid? ;)

I would say yes to this... But I have one huge problem with it. The atomizer isn't replaceable. So when it burns out... in a few weeks or months(if I'm lucky) then i have to buy another bowl. Which is the same price as a new pipe. And even if it lasts me a month... 50 bucks for just hardware each month is a bit much for me.

I was hoping for something more... all inclusive than the epipemods. Maybe for around 100 bucks that includes everything if not most everything needed to smoke it. But still has changeable carts/atomizers and batteries. I may just be hoping for something that doesn't exist, but hey its worth an ask!

The ego-t arrived yesterday. So far it has been a good experience. THough the pre-filled tanks contain horrible liquid. I didn't know they made wet ashtray flavor! :p

-edit-
Also it is worth noting that this is not a name brand ego-t kit. Though the box says ego-t none of the hardware is branded with anything on it. Disappointing! (on that note... don't buy anything from www.eliquid-usa.com)

There are a couple pipe e cig mod's they are pricey but they take standard cartomizers or atomizers..I smoked cigs but I wouldn't mind a pipe since vaping kind of seems a lot like smoking a pipe to me. I puff my e-cigs like a pipe and only inhale once in awhile..the nic will absorb through skin/tongue so you don't really have to inhale much anyways.

Yeah, it does seem vaping is more pipe/cigar type smoking. Back of the throat is as far as my smoke goes. ;)

I have been to Google and back again, and the only one i see that fits the bill is the Jazz cartopipe. I guess I shall take a look for more reviews on them.

You could attempt modding your own DIY E-Pipe Mod if you're handy..I'm thinking of trying that out of some parts I have laying around, buying a few things and a cheap pipe. IDK if I would follow the video exactly but it gives me ideas..I also would want to try to use the pipes mouthpiece. I'm surprised there isn't a lower cost e pipe mod out there it seems it could be done pretty inexpensively.

That may be something I look into. Worked for a carpenter for a few years during college... Maybe I can borrow his shop for a day. ;)

I am surprised about the cost as well. I can understand about hand made pipes. Yes, they cost more because they are hand made. But at the same time a pipe made from an inexpensive pre-made pipe could be used to make a moderate 50-60 dollar e-pipe and I know many people would buy one at that price. Or maybe a someone that takes a personal pipe and mods it for you for a set price. I sure have a few I don't use anymore! :2cool:
