Hi guys I'm still pretty new to the forum this will be my second post.I recently bought a smok h priv mini and I ended not liking the device a lot due to the battery draining really quick and the tank leaking all over the place but thats a different discussion. Anyways I look around and decided to buy another mod I went with the smok alien starter kit that comes with the tfv8 baby tank hoping this one don't leak all over. Now I've been reading a lot about rda and battery info but still pretty scared about it. What rda tanks would you guys recommend for beginners and what type of batteries would you guys recommend using on this unit? I bought a pair from MVS along with the device they're Efest IMR 18650 LiMb 3000mah - 20 amp. Are these safe to use on this device ?? What would be the highest wattage range to use with this batteries with out pushing it to the limit... This is my main concerned the batteries exploding on my hands. I also ordered a Universal battery charger and a pair of lg HE2 2500mah - 35a from Amazon.

Excuse my ignorance, I just want to stay on the safe side of things...

I haven't stayed current with Tanks/RDAs, mostly RTA and RDTAs lately so really can't give any advice there. The mod and batteries though, I'll state be extra careful with the ones you have. 1) Efest are notoriously re-wrapped B and C bin discards from LG, Samsung, Sony, Sanyo/Panasonic and Efest likes to over spec them, 3000mah @ 20amps, I wouldn't push them past 10 amps being most times they use the pulse discharge as the rating on the label which is 2X the actual safer continuous discharge rate. 2) Unless you bought those LG HE2 off "TorchytheBatteryBoy" "TorchytheBatteryBoi" on Amazon, be extra cautious, they might be clones, 35Amp are their Pulse Discharge, the authentic HE2 is a 20amp Continuous. For settings on authentic Big 4 manufactured A Bin batteries (Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic/Sanyo), 20amp batteries max watts is 60watts per battery, 25amp Batteries is 75watts max per battery, 30amp batteries is 90watts max per battery.

Being the Alien is dual battery
20amp CDR = 120watts max
25amp CDR = 150watts max
30amp CDR = 180watts max

Link in my signature has a good guide on batteries and chargers to read at your leisure, but...

RTDVapor.com

Best 3 batteries by CDR category
20amp CDR = Samsung 30Q 3000mah
25amp CDR = Sony VTC5A 2500mah (Take note of the "A" in the model here, this is a revamp of the older VTC5 2600mah 20amp CDR)
30amp CDR = LG HB6 1500mah <- Nothing has a better CDR than the HB Series in 18650 form factor ATM, any battery that has a higher rating than this on its wrapper is a re-wrap and a lie

Stay away from batteries in 18650 form by Efest, IMRen, MXJO, Baisen, Eizfan, etc

Our resident battery expert, Mooch, has a list of recommended batteries with some reliable suppliers listed at the bottom:

As @IMFire3605 says, I'd be a bit concerned about the batteries you have. Efests are rewraps, and while the LGs should be OK if they're authentic, the fact that the seller's overrated them suggests that the seller isn't very reliable. There are a lot of counterfeit batteries around, so who knows what they really are.

I'm like RDA's exclusively, however,
Tanks-I would check out:
The Tron-S, with the CLR coils, the EHpro Kayfun Lite V2, Kayfun V5, and the Subtank Mini with the RBA

Looks like you have a lot of basic questions, this site will answer quite a few:

This is my main concerned the batteries exploding on my hands.
By using good quality regulated mods (designed with common industry safe guards) this should not happen.
