Hi, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post
I research everything to death initially before making decisions so some of my research may possibly help you sort this out.
I will start with my background, first e-cig purchase, and then the reasons why I made this choice as a e-cig first purchase.
Background:
I am a Software Developer. I have specifically done game development, mobile app development (iOS, Android, and Blackberry), Facebook apps, and database management and programming.
I have been smoking since I was 16. I am now 25. I used to smoke between 4 cigarettes to a whole pack of Marlboro Reds a day. I have always chased cigarettes with the highest nicotine content. I've hated the taste of lights and NEVER bought them; although, I did bum them quite often when 'necessary
'. I used to smoke a pack and a half a day but cut way down. I have 'tried' quitting cigarettes probably 50 or so times. I was successful a few times but ruined it by smoking a cigarette 'recreation-ally'--telling myself that I could have just 1 and be fine. This would always lead to the slow climb of smoking full-time again: Start with one -> bum 2 a few days later -> bum a few more until it starts to fell like I'm annoying someone by bumming -> split a pack with someone -> say screw it and buy a whole pack -> YAY, I'm a full-time smoker again!
Since my first e-cig arrival in the mail 3 days ago, I haven't touch my 'analog' cigarettes at all (despite having a massive craving for one while assembling the e-cig kit). The craving for cigarettes subsided nearly--if not--completely after trying my e-cig for the first time. Mind you, I had(have) boxes of cigs laying around my desk while doing this so the temptation was huge. I told myself to give the e-cig a quick chance to curb the craving and if it didn't work immediately, I could 'enjoy' a regular cig.
First E-Cig purchase:
I bought the iTaste vv/vw 3.0 express kit. It is the kit that includes the battery, a charging cable, and the multilingual instruction manual. Along with this, I bought a Kanger T3S Clearomizer (included a 2.5 Ohm coil), 5 replacement 1.8 Ohm coil units, and 3 various 10 ml e-liquids with 12 mg of nicotine. I am very, very satisfied with this purchase
.
Immediately after first hitting the fully assembled kit a few times, my nicotine craving subsided
! I've been messing around with various voltage and wattage levels--trying to see how they affect taste, vapor production, and battery drain. At around 200 puffs (with testing those values all over the place) my battery had yet to go below the green level! I did not charge it before first use because this is not necessary with lithium-ion batteries (I am absolutely sure of this). Also, I never did the 3-click on/off while using it--not sure how this will affect the life-cycle of the battery--but we shall find out.
Reasons for this Purchase:
I could write a 90 page paper explaining why I made the decisions I did, but I want to keep it short and sweet.
I love having maximum flexibility in products that I purchase, high reliability, and best value for the money. I wanted to also have all of this in the smallest size possible. I don't want to carry around a full-sized light saber when initially switching. I am still around a massive amount of traditional smokers and don't want to look too out of place (at first)
.
After doing too much research on vaping, I resulted with the Innokin iTaste vv/vw 3.0 as my first e-cig. I love it because it packs so many features into such a small device. I was very interested in battery life when making this decision. When programming, my specific joy is maximizing performance with the smallest usage of resources. Having the flexibility of changing so much on my e-cig goes right along with my personality of optimizing things. I LOVE challenges! Figuring out the lowest power setting while producing an optimal result is almost too much fun for me
.
I chose to get a Kanger T3S Clearomizer because all-in-all it seemed to have the best reviews of all of the clearomizers (without appearing too bulky). I got the 1.8 ohm replacement coils because I figured that vaping at a lower voltage would increase battery life; however, since lower ohm atomizers produce more heat, I may have been wrong on this. I will vigorously be testing every possible combination of everything to reach the highest possible battery life, while preserving an optimal vaping experience
.
I hope I did not miss anything important,
It's nice to meet you guys!
