Hello once again to Oliver and ecf team and all the members.
I ve had been smoking since I was 15 and 2 years ago I stopped smoking packs and begun buying the raw tobacco and nature friendly papers and filters. I was happy for a while but at the same time I ve been observing and researching e cig gizmos. Finally a month ago I bought my first starter kit I stick pico 75 W and Melo 3 came with it. Because I want to reduce the quantity of nicotine in time and quit eventually. I bought baby beast thinking that I could wrap my own coils. But never liked DL instead declded to go for MTL atomisers. Bought Natilius 2 and very happy with it but I am not sure If i can do my own coils I guess it’s ready made coil atomiser. Finally I found out I need rta atomisers to wrap my own cotton and bit n pieces. So because i am a MTL smoker I am going to buy gus phonemonon clone to be able to do my own coils? But I have no ideas which material to use for wrapping gus phon. I need some info on this topic plus do you guys think I could use natilius x 1.4 ohm coils for my natilius 2 ? Would they fit? And gus phonemonon good idea for a rta beginners?
Thank you and wish you the best for Christmas and the new year to you all.
Cheers
Cem

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the Nautilus and Nautilus 2 use different drop in coils.

I've never heard of the gus phonemonon. If you are looking for a mouth-to-lung rebuildable tank atomizer, I suggest the Kayfun. There are several editions, I have the Kayfun Lite Plus. Coil building for it is easy. There is a slight learning curve wicking it. Top notch flavor, satisfactory vapor. The KFL Plus works best with a single coil of 1.5 ohms. I suggest several wraps of 28 gauge kanthal wire, 2.5 or 3 mm inner diameter; use Steam Engine Coil Calculator to make sure. Steam Engine main page You can use organic cotton for the wick, but my preference is cellucotton (Rayon).

What Makes the Kayfun so Great?

Howdy and welcome. :) I found several build videos for the Gus phenomenon, unfortunately they’re in Russian and Japanese. It is apparently not a mod sold commonly in the West. There are pictures though. It appears to be extremely similar to a single coil kayfun or Russian. You might be able to look at build videos for either of those and get something that would work. Should be a fairly straight forward build.
My guess would be six wraps of 26g kanthal on a 2mm mandrel should make a decent coil for MTL. YMMV of course. No ones vaping style is the same.

All gus stuff is very hi end and very nice, as for the clones, I cannot say....pretty much a kayfun style mtl rta...depending on your wattage, you can use either 26 or 28g, both 2.5mm ID and both around 6 to 7 wraps. From there you really need to watch some specific gus builds because every rta is wicked a little different

The Nautilus and N2 coils are the same.

As far as an RTA I don't know that one. You can try a high ohms build in it, but the airflow may or may not be to airy for MTL, you will have to experiment.

MTL tanks I've enjoyed building on-- Kayfun clones, Vandy vape berserker (very restricted airflow but I like it) the Siren V2, a bit airier but still MTL. Really easy first build due to how it traps the screws and nice large capacity. Some say it is less flavorful than other MTL tanks, but I find the flavor decent-to-good. A Coppervape Hussar clone with an airflow reducer does a good job at MTL and easy build deck with lots of customizable options, and around $14 if using one of the China sites.

Welcome to ECF and I hope you enjoy your stay, congrats on switching to vaping :)
