My husband bought me my first e-cig today for our anniversary (tomorrow). Unfortunately, I charged it and got one pull and doesn't work. Luckily it was his boss who sold it to him and I should be able to get a new one tomorrow. I am still smoking "analogs" at present. The hubby was able to just quit, not me though; 27 almost 28 years of smoking and it is hard; no matter how much it hurts anymore to just breathe sometimes :( **anyone who has smoked a long time and switched from analog to e-cig; please let me know that this will help my lungs to feel better; I want to not die, from cigarettes anyway.
I am confused by all the different parts, types, etc etc. I never would've thought there was so much information.. found this site by looking for information on cleaning (because maybe I want to change flavors and don't want remnants of old flavors) and finding out about all the parts of the e-cig. I am not even sure what brand it is; the case has a forward G and backward G and a 1. When I searched that; I got lots of people selling things that look like what I have but are not.
As a starter and someone who is clueless about all this...is it recommended to have an extra battery? I know when I tried these crappy little e-cigs I bought at a local reservation store (they looked like analogs with just two parts) I had to have one charging while using the other. My starter kit only came with one battery, charger and the part you put the juice in which I guess surrounds the "atomizer" I have tried to read stuff so I can ask questions without sounding like a total .... but...I am not understanding much of it. Like I don't know if mine is considered to be an atomizer or clearomizer and what the real difference is betwixt those two...I am not asking for a lesson; but if you know of any good sites with very good information; that would be awesome!! :)
Glad you guys are here and look forward to learning more...
I especially am interested in learning DIY nic-juice as I tend to want to know what I am putting in my body, just found out that tobacco is GMO which really pushed the whole idea of changing things up into my mind. I tend to learn by watching then doing; found videos for cleaning on YouTube.
Thanks.

Extra battery: Yes.
I have 6; but my main usage is on plugin wire, not batteries.

Sites with information: You found it! HERE!

Welcome, and take one step at a time.

Rather than type a whole lot, I have an idea. There is a shop on Eggert at Longfellow called House of Vapor, it is a satellite store from their main retail/wholesale location. Stop by there and you will walk out an expert. ;)
I am pretty sure I know where you're talking about (just moved to Buff/Amherst 7 months ago) Thanks.

Welcome! You've come to the right place! You can do it, just go at your own pace and you will succeed in getting off the analogs!

Welcome
A few quick questions and maybe we can get it working for you
When you say it does not work what do you mean?
Is it an Ego style battery with the button on it? (about the size of swisher sweet style cigar)
Does the button light up when you press it?
have you seen any similar online that you can copy and paste here?

dorkpixie,
Some can quit, others cannot. It is not a reflection on the person...
I am hoping it is an ego type battery set up, with a tank, and can be swapped out with a functioning unit.

No promises, but after the switch to vaping, breathing should get better.

Would not worry too much about "flavor hang over" at the moment,
the big thing is to get your hardware in order first.
Have a backup to the one you are using.

You have already found the best site, for any info you need....
Get the hardware sorted out first......
Come back and let us know how it is going.

Welcome to the ECF Forum "Grass Hopper!" & Congratulations on taking the first steps towards quittin' the stinkies!!!! :toast:

You have every right to be confused as vaping can be rather intimidating at first.... but, if you just hang with us here for awhile, I'm sure we can all get you off to a smoother start in short order.

I wish I could identify that eCig you attempted to describe, but without a Photo I'm afraid I can't help you with that... however, if you're willing to spend a few more minutes reading... this Link here can hook you up to some helpful information for Newbie Vapers. Setting up your new e-cigarette - ECF InfoZone

Here's to you finding your Vaping Nirvana! :smokie:

1. My husband was able to draw a pull; had vapor. I let it charge a couple hrs; took a pull and no vapor. Played with it a little, got one pull with vapor, nothing else. I have let it charge a little more; tried again got one pull w/vapor then nothing (dry pull?). So, not sure if it's the batt or something else.
2. Yes it is Ego style...with button.
3, Yes, button lights up for all normal reasons it should i.e. pluggin into charger, holding button down, touching button etc
4. The brand is definitely GG1. But links>> this is exact one I got>>> Vaporizer Pen -Vape
^^ looked at link...2 differences with mine the mouth piece is black tapered (like the Ego) and my charger does not have the trademark; but the batt does.

I quit and my lungs stopped hurting. So many wonderful things changed. I no longer miss smoking. I'm no longer afraid to not carry a pack with me. I smoked for about 3 weeks and vaped also. I just one day decided to not carry cigarettes with me and the rest is history. Definitely have a back up battery. I have 2 back ups. There is so much to learn even with a basic set up, but you'll be coaching people along before you even know it.

I found watching youtube videos on vaping taught me a lot on visual info. Everything else I've learned by reading here, google searches that lead me here and picking the brain of the guy at the vape shop.

Pbusardo reviews are really good, found on youtube. He also has an informative website. Tasteyourjuice.com

Scroll down about halfway and there are a bunch of links under "information".

Welcome to ECF! :)

OH have you 'turned it on?' you might have to press the button 5xs fast to switch it on at least most ego cigs you have to. If that still doesn't work then yeah it's a bad one.

LOL!! I am computer techie so this struck me as funny...lol...but I see your point as I did not know that you have to hit button 5x fast...thanks. I have gotten pulls but will try this too :)
