If you could tell us a little about your lifestyle, we can make a better decision. For instance, how much do you smoke? Do you spend a lot of time out and about so that you need long battery life or would you be able to stay connected to an electric outlet/computer? Would you have any difficulty filling cartridges, either visually or coordinating it?

I smoke about a pack a day,i am home almost all the time,i do not know how to fill them, but i am sure i could.

Hubby & I survive on his disability so I totally understand. You might not believe it at first, but in the long run you will save money.
Just be careful of the model you start with and, if you are happy, stick with it.
You might want to spend some time in the Modders section because learning how to DIY will save a even more.
Welcome to your new world and good luck.

There are a couple really good Labor Day sales going on.

A lot of members like the 808s, which is a two piece, battery and cartomizer, which is pretty convenient and small. This looks like a good offer- $29.95 and if you spend another $10 (easy to do with juice and extra cartomizers), they throw in a free USB passthrough, which is great for prolonging the life of your batteries.

There's also another group that loves their 510s, which are a three piece set (but can also be two if you replace cartridge and atomizer with a single piece cartomizer). Here's a link for a starter kit for $36. I would recommend getting a passthrough since you're home a lot, which can be had for about $10-$15, but you wouldn't need to get this right away as the kit comes with two batteries, enough to get you started.

At the higher end of your budget would be the eGo or RiVa. Their biggest selling point is the prolonged battery life, but if you do spend a lot of time, being on a limited budget, it may not be worth it to you, especially initially. However, if you're in no hurry to get it, Greenhouse One, a China based company, has an eGo kit for $50 with I think $15 shipping. They've got one of the best warranties on their products and I understand that they are terrific people to do business with.

The kits include a battery or two, a couple atomisers, chargers, and some cartos (tips with filler that hold the juice)
You might consider this, but you will need e-liquid too. Since your home a lot a pass through would be convenient.
Most e-cigs come in a handfull of styles. The number used indicates the parts that will work together. The 510 atomiser (electric wick) screws on to the 510 battery, or any other battery that uses a 510 threaded connection. The atomiser is the most important part of any e-cig and every thing that you get for your e-cig will need to be related by that style number. So, if you get a 510, you need a battery with a 510 connection. The same would be true for the other styles, which are numbered as well.
The 510 is very popular and there are a couple start up kits that should get you going. A standard 510, tends to have short battery life. The Ego 510 has better battery life.
Good luck.

The egO is great (and cignot is a very good supplier too I use them myself and the one someone quoted aboveIS for 2 complete eGos and chargers) but even cheaper is the basic 510 kit at $35 although shipping will be $5 if thats all you buy (same place - cignot - the nobox kit) and that is for 2 complete 510 basic PV.
The drawback with the basic 510 is the battery life - myself I got around this by also buying a Pass Through (plugs into a pc port or more safely a wall plug that is AC/USB) but they are around $20 (and the plugs are more $) so if you go that route you are already at around the price of an eGo kit (no Pass through with that though but you may not need one with the eGo).
Don't forget that with any PV kit you will need extra juice - although most kits come with pre-filled carts the flavors of most of them is pretty rank (some are ok but compared to bottles of juice you can refill your carts with they are rank lol)
Whatever kit you buy and wherever you buy it from you should get extra juice (not extra prefilled carts, thats expensive) because you will either get through it faster than you think or you will find the flavor of the prefilled carts doesnt suit you and you need to try something else.
Also shop around - make a list of all suppliers you get recommended and check out the reviews on them in our reviews of suppliers sections - don't take one person's word for it (including mine lol) :) Check out reviews of the PV you like the looks of too, read about the pros and cons and THEN decide. I say because this tends to be an industry where impulse buying is rife - and buying a PV on impulse is often a bad (and costly) idea :)

vaporjunction.com has the Riva Kits in stock for $49.95, use code ECF10 at checkout for 10% off and that basically equals free shipping, that's the route I'd recommend. It comes with 2 batteries, 2 automizers, 1 cone, charger and 10 empty carts. I get well over a days use out each battery in between charges and I was also around a pad smoker. You'll probably want to add a passthrough at some point if your around the computer most of the time but with the 510 kit you'd probably need to do that now since the batts last about 1/4th the time of the Riva/Ego in between charges. With the Riva or Ego kits the batts last long enough you can wait a while on the passthough if your budget doesn't permit and have the best of both worlds in the end.

Very good advice everyone and GREAT research Sin. That was really nice of you. :) I personally started with a 401. Love the flavor I get from them but short battery life. I then got an 808 xl. Easy to fill cartos ( with the condom fill method) and longer battery but the flavor isn't nearly as good. Some friends gave me a 510. Great vapor and the taste is closer to the 401 but short battery life. I now have a Hello016. It has a longer battery life than the EGO which is why I chose it. I have a 510 - 510 adapter from cignot. No matter what 510 (regular, Hello or passthru) all 510 cartos fit. The reason that I mention this is because all manufacturers seem to be a little different so adapters of all kinds will come in handy.

Need a supplier that takes paypal,as i have no cc.

That can be a little more problematic since PayPal has restrictions on using it for e-cigs. The only supplier(s) I know for sure use it are Chinese (Greenhouse One, Eastmall). Hopefully if anyone knows of any American equipment suppliers, they'll chime in.

Danger Will Robinson! Danger!

Seriously, your best bet will be to check out the descriptions people here give, decide what will work for you, ask to be sure, and go for it. Oh yeah, try to buy from the local dealers in here. Forgot that. If they weren't reputable, people would know real quick like.

If it eases your mind any, after the startup cost due to my own inexperience, I'm spending about a buck a day.

I started with a 510 - and it was good enough to make me realize I liked vaping more than cigarettes and didn't need them anymore. 510 atarter kits are pretty inexpensive. BUT - I liked it so much that in 2 weeks I bought an ego so that I wasn't constantly switching out batteries. I would have saved money going directly for an ego. I sent my 510 to my brother though - so now he will get to enjoy it nd quit as well. On the plus side - a lot of the parts on a 510 kit also fit the ego so if you buy an ego later - all is not wasted. But - I would just go straight for an ego if I had to do it all over again.

Vaping will save you tons of money! Sure - you have to invest anywhere from 30-60 bucks for the unit initially. But after that - all you basically need is juice. I just got enough juice to last me for 2 months minimum for 30 dollars (on sale from freedomsmoke USA). Compared to my 10 dollar a day habit (300 bucks a month in cigarettes!) - I'm now spending 15 bucks a month in juice.

You'll love it. You'll spend some money initially trying different flavors of juice - but you'll still end up spending much less than cigarettes.

See if your bank can do you a global credit card which is like a debit card but seperate from your main bank account (also like the pre-pay credit cards you can buy in walmart) that you add money to when you need to use it at stores or online. Most ecig vendor don't use paypal because paypal have restrictions on sales of anything tobacco related (lets not get into the argument that we aren't connected to tobacco per se) and rather than be banned from paypal altogether most vendors stopped using it for that side of their business.
