I'm 58 and a ballpark range of analog cigs I've smoked is probably 400,000+. Can't believe I'm alive. I ordered a Green Smoke kit (I didn't know) last year and used it for a few days and wasn't impressed. A week ago I ordered fresh carts and now haven't smoked in 3 days. I wasn't really trying to quit, I just did. Although the wheezing and ever decreasing lung function were frightening.

Now I'm in a rush to find something where the battery lasts most of the day and the same for the juice. I'm constantly switching batteries and carts on GS. The info here is some of the most confusing and so overwhelming that I'm lost. I've been here for most of three days but I still don't have a clue. lol

I would ask for help but I think every topic has been covered so I'll keep reading and come up with something.

I'm glad I found ECF!

thanks

Actually I'm open to suggestions on what has worked for you as a step up.

Easiest step up and reasonably priced is KGO with the bigger 1100 mAh battery. Get the kit that has two batteries in it so you have one to use while the other is charging. HoosierEcigSupply sells them, as well as other sites. The batteries last all day and provide a much stronger vape and throat hit. They are $43.99 for the kit and comes in different colors. Then get either 1.7 ohm or 2 ohm 510 single coil cartomizers. He has them in a 5 pack for $7. I'd get two packs. Once you get used to using those, you can explore more options. Or instead of cartomizers you can also try the Ego Vision Clearomizers he has also. You can unscrew the drip tip and pour your juice in, then screw the tip back on, and see your juice through the side and know when you are getting low. Best of luck to you!

I too started with a micro type battery, then quickly went to the kgo. It's about the size of a black and mild cigar. Battery last most of the day and there are numerous juice delivery systems for it, It uses the 510 threads . It has worked very well for me and some may say its the best ego/riva type battery available. I got mine from hoosierse-cigsupply.com and Brent the owner was very helpful and will answer any questions you'll have. Other places you can get it is sweetvapes.com,darkcityvapors.com and I'm sure a few others. I also got cartomizers, clearomizers, vivi nova 2 , fluxomizers ( from gotvapes.com) , and a attomizer and drip tip to try different systems to see which I liked best . But now I'm looking at getting something bigger and better. Like the silver bullet with the kick, or the Apollo vtube , and maybe the ego c twist . They use bigger batteries that last days and are also variable voltage or variable wattage . Which is good because different juices taste better at different wattage or voltage . But good luck keep reading and ask a lot of questions , god knows I did .

I have a KGO and like it. Here is a shopping list (with links) at Hoosiers so you will know exactly what to buy (my recommendations, but YMMV):

KGO kit: KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

Vivi Nova tank: Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V2

Replacement Heads for Vivi Nova (I'd get 2 of either the 1.8ohm or 2.4ohm): Vision Nova Replacement Heads

Additional Cartos (get the XL size - whatever color you want): 5 pack of 1.7ohm single coil 510 cartomizer by Smok Tech

Low Resistance Clearomizer (get one just to see if you like it): EGO Vision clearomizers LR 2.1-2.4ohm

Drip Tips (at least 1 or 2): Acrylic Big Belly Drip Tips

With this kit, the only other thing you will need is juice. I've never bought juice from Hoosiers, so can't recommend anything there. There are LOTS of places to buy juice.

You don't HAVE to buy the Vivi Nova tank, replacment heads or the Clearomizers (or even the extra pack of cartomizers) if money is tight. But if you can swing it, buying the items I've linked you to will get you the KGO kit plus 4 different types of juice delivery systems - i.e., atomizer (2 come with the kit), cartomizers (5 come with it and my kit above includes 5 more blank ones), Clearomizers and a Tank. It would be a good starting point to figuring out what you like and what you don't like.

With these recommendations, I'm trying to help you avoid a lot of fretting and hand-wringing over what to buy. The above kit may not be the one you ultimately take to your grave, but it is NOT a waste of money, and it will serve as a great backup kit even if/when you decide to buy something fancier down the line.

You have already received really good recommendations. I will echo the Vivi Nova V2 set up for holding the juice. I used the cartos, the other clearomizers and found the Vivi to work the best for me. However, it is up to you.

I just wanted to welcome you to ECF and feel free to ask any questions. I have found that even if they have been answered in other threads the people here are very good about answering questions again. This is YOUR thread by the way! :)

I do agree with the above recommendations and would also like to add the E-Power to the list. It takes replaceable batteries that are separate from the unit and are inexpensive (even compared to the KGO battery) to replace. It is also still compatible with everything else mentioned. Welcome to the forums BTW!

Welcome to ECF! It has been a huge help for me. I also started with a little battery I think mine was called the eversmoke. It helped me get off the analogs but the battery life was awful. I went with the riva 510-t, the battery is a 650 mAh. Over all its a great battery and it lasts for about 8-10 hours of vaping. The first day I used it I realized how much I hated the tank and atomizer set up. With a ton of help from people at ECF I use the boge 2.0 510 cartomizers 2.0ohm and the E1 clearomizer - ReVive - v2. I love both of them. I tend to use the cartomizers when I am at home and the clearomizer when I am out.

It seems like a lot of people like the KGO which was mentioned above. I know that if I had found this forum first that would have been what I purchased instead of the riva. PBusardo does a review on the KGO on Youtube and gives it a big thumbs up. You might want to check it out.

Good luck!!!

That's a good suggestion. If I was starting out and knew what I know now, I would probably go with the KGO again (just because it's so darned unintimidating), but the E-Power would be a great kit too. And cheaper in the long run because of the replaceable batteries. In fact, when one of my KGO batteries finally dies, I may get an E-Power to replace it just to compare.

I have KGOs and Epowers and they both get use. Once you get good chargers, then being able to use cheap replaceable batteries is really a bonus. While I didn't need another PV, I ordered this one today as it's just a great value. For $23 you get a quality tube mod, it works with the stock eGo charger, has HUGE battery capacity, and uses all accessories made for eGo systems.

If size isn't important to you - this is a great value...

Dittos all around - fantastic starting points (wish I had discovered ECF before plunking cash on the minis) and you can't fail with what's been recommended. I agree that spending on a solid battery (like the kgo/riva/egos) with 510 threads is always the best way to go as you'll never feel like you've limited yourself in trying the latest and greatest atomizers/delivery systems. As for delivery systems/atomizers, I went from cartomizers, to direct dripping, to tanks and now to a Vision Ego clearomizer. These are all relatively inexpensive in the scheme of things and while ultimately i fell in love with clearomizers (easy to maintain, easy to vape, easy to tell when you're low, can use all) everyone's different and it's great to have choices.

Enjoy the journey my friend and welcome to ECF! Ask any and all questions you have, the answers are always there waiting for you here.
