I got my KR-808 from V4L (Great company btw). Anyways I'm alittle overwhelmed on some stuff after smoking for such a long time I have searched this forum and still have some questions on vaping.

1) How long does a carto last?

2) How would I know if a Mg of nicotine is to high?

3) Did you keep your analogs around during the first couple of day's while trying to get used to vaping? Did you wait to start vaping till a new day so as to have the lowest nicotine in your system?

4) If I put in a cart that is flavored but want to try something else do I hurt or ruin the cart by switching them around multiple times?

That's about it I'm super pyched to have my PV and hoping for the best once these batt's charge.

Hi and welcome to ECF and the world of vaping!

1. I've only just started using cartomizers, but the ones I'm using (different carto for different flavors) have lasted well over a week so far - and still going. I've refilled them several times. But as with all things "vape" - ymmv.

2. Too much nicotine can make your head hurt or your heart race. Unfortunately not enough nic can also make your head hurt, lol. You'll know when you have enough or don't have enough - if you feel "satisfied" then you're good, if you start having nic fits and you're chain-vaping, you'll know you need higher nic. Again, ymmv.

3. I never expected vaping to completely replace analogs. It just did. The day I got my pv was the last day I smoked an analog.

4. This question confused me a little since you were asking about cartos (cartomizers - an atty + filler all in one unit) in the first question. If you are using "carts" (2 pieces - atomizer and a cartridge for your liquid, or "cart"), then switching flavors is as simple as filling a different cart with the new flavor, blowing out your atty (to get the old flavor out of it), and sticking the cart back on the atty.

Hiya vengance, I'll try to answer what I can, although I am sure you'll get quite a few answers....

1. The life of your carto is going to vary for a number of reasons. 1. not all cartos are created equal. I have had some last months and some last a few days. 2. the more often you use it, the shorter the lifespan. 3. cleaning it out occasionally (blowing it out or even soaking in rubbing alcohol and letting it dry thoroughly) might help it last longer too.

2. That's going to depend on you. Start in the middle (18mg or so) and see if that does the trick and helps edge back your craving. If you start feeling lousy; headaches, nausea, etc. go to a lower level.

3. I kept my analogs around for about 2 months lol. It took me a long time to quit (today is my 1st week without an analog). Vaping wasn't one of those things that shut off the desire to smoke as it is for some people. When I wanted a smoke I'd ask myself if I really really wanted it. At first it was a absolute "hell yes I do" as time passed I used my PV more and more. Eventually I couldn't stand the taste of an analog, I said "enough is enough" and just stopped buying them at all.

4. You won't ruin the cart, but you'll not get the full taste of the new flavor. Best thing I found was to drip or use an atty with a cart, and cleaning the atty when I switched flavors. Otherwise you'll end up with a mix of flavors that won't taste all that great.

Hope that helps....

Welcome to ECF. When I use carto's I figure a full one will give me about 5 cig's worth of nic. If you get hiccups, headache, nausea, stuff like that, your nic is too high. I kept a pack of analogs around for about a month. Right before I got rid of them I smoked one just to see if I wanted one, It was gross, disgusting, and nasty. You can change cartomizers (that's what the KR8 used) as often as you want. It won't hurt to take it off and put it aside till later. You might want to keep the little rubber thingies (they're referred to as condoms here on ECF) to put on the ends so they won't leak.

If you're using a KR808, you're most likely using cartos. Switching cartos is as easy as unscrewing the old one and putting on the new one. One thing, though... put the caps on the "old" one unless it's dead and you're throwing it out. If you're going to use it again later (like if you're just switching flavors for a while), you don't want to let it dry out. :)

It looks like everyone has some great answers, but I will add to how long a cartomizer lasts. A fresh, pre-filled cartomizer lasts roughly a half a pack to a pack of cigarettes depending on how deeply you inhale and how much vapor you like to produce while puffing on it. I count on it lasting about 10 cigarettes. After that, the cartomizers are refillable and can be used more than once. You already have some good answers on how to make that work.
