Hello all,

I opened my ECF account over 2 years ago, but some bug prevented me from logging in and then I got busy, so here I am again. I did lurk around the forum when I needed some information, but it doesn't matter, since this is my real birth to vaping:

I bought my first E-cig kit 2.5 years ago (Ego/510 compatible), but that system was just not working well enough; not enough vapor, not constant enough in the amount of vapor, needed constant refilling and cleaning and probably not enough power to deliver enough nicotine. I barely cut on analogs all that time. It did have some raving reviews on YouTube, but that must have been been user excitement over a new system and never will I justify such a purchase on reviews alone.

Last Thursday, my new girl suggested we hop to the local vape shop since we were already heading towards that area. We both tried their juices and I bought a new clearomizer and juices since that seemed to work so much better after trying it (day and night, really!) I cut down from 21+ cigarettes to about 6 in one day.

My GF was so excited she was looking into ordering something online, but was looking at some cig-a-likes. She's currently unemployed to top it all, so I had to do something to both save her money and frustration (she did figure out from links I sent her that cig-a-likes are not cheap). I had been considering a new system for almost a year now, so the next day, Saturday, I went back to the vape shop to get a whole new started kit. Yesterday I gave her my old kit (which should be an excellent starter battery kit since she doesn't smoke all that much) and I took her back to the vape shop so she could get some juices and an decent clearomizer. We both had less than 5 cigarettes after about 12 hours of waking time that day and we had a long day of walking and then drinking beer.

For those interested, the clearomizers and kit in question are V3 eGo Spinner. I am aware It doesn't have the best user comments on here, but I think some users forget that we all need to start somewhere ;-) and this is an excellent start IMO. I am already aware I will be getting into rebuildable coils and mods (techie guy, here!), but I also need a kit I won't cringe over too much if it gets damaged at work and this kit is hard to beat for the price compared to everything else I have seen in the shop and online.

I do still have some extra money left on the side and I have to admit I am already considering an 18650 VV/VW kit very soon for use at home or when drinking, where the temptation is at it's worst. If anyone has a recommendation on juice flavors that work well with beer and help forget that analogs were probably invented by a brewer, I'm all ears! :toast:

Hello Torch and welcome. I'm kinda new here myself, despite the 'member since 2011' thing over there. Probably the same problem bug you ran into. Just got a MVP v2 today, can't recommend it more! Just don't get it at a shop, order it online, it'll save you 30-40 bucks.

I was a menthol smoker so I know I'll be hitting the Halo Sub-Zero when I'm drinking beer. It's the only menthol I've tried but it's good enough.

Happy Vaping!

Hey Torch welcome(back) to ECF. I'm currently using an MVP 2.0 myself like ironmunky topped with either an Aspire Nautilus which I love or my trusty RDA(Patriot clone). Prob going to pick up a Kayfun RBA Thursday. Glad to hear the cutting back on the analogs and helping the GF out. As stated above B&M shops are more expensive than online ordering but IMO I like being able to talk to a real person face to face and touch the gear before I buy it. Next step for me is a mech just dunno which direction i'm gonna head with that one. Keep up the good work with the analogs.

welcome to? back? which ever works! as far as flavors go, anything that stops you from reaching for the stinkies is the one that works (everybody has a different ideas about which one) I started with the 9mm cig a likes myself (joytec 510 tank) moved to the eGo's now vaping one of five mods Vamo V5, Z'max, for regulated mods and Nemesis, Launcher V2, Maraxus mechanicals. drippers, Russian 91%, Kracken, Kanger PT2 + PT2 mini. many other tanks and cartos that just don't seem to be "working" for me any more.
the trick is finding what works for YOU and what tastes the best to YOU. try the juices at your local B+M when you find the right one you will know (it will grab you and you just have to have it)

VAPE ON! :vapor:

Thanks for the replies, guys! I already bought menthol juice and might go for that when drinking. It can interfere with some meals aftertaste, though, as I found out yesterday.

As for prices, I did a quick search and would have probably saved about 10%, not counting shipping, by ordering online (quick search, though). I did want it right away and also have decided I want to help out the local shops as a contribution to give a better chance to help vaping become popular around here. Vapers are still much less than 5% of the smokers outside bars over here as I have witnessed this weekend. We'll be carrying business cards in the future as we had a few people ask about it...

welcome Torch and ironmunky ... nice to see you guys revive your ECF accounts.

can't help on a juice choice ... I'll vape anything while drinking beers :toast:

Thanks you. I'll do many things I normally don't when drinking ;) Some beers seem to cut down taste bud sensitivity to e-juice but I'm sure I'll find something that works. Probably Havana juice or menthol for now.

To AND back both work. I did find juices I can't seem to let go in normal waking life. I might have to go back drunk to see what works then. Good suggestion :D

Well welcome Torch and congrats to you and your "smart" new girlfriend. You might have a keeper.

I'm sure vaping has improved since you last attempt so I look forward to hearing about your success and all the goodies I think you are going to be getting. Have fun and happy vaping to you both.

Thanks. She is a keeper for many other things as well :) Starting to vape together is an absolute plus, though!

I already reduced my analog smoking by more than half (from 21+ down to 6 to 8 a day) I might need something stronger than 18mg as I have been sucking like mad, but I'll keep it there and see if I can leave it down a bit. I think I'm mostly sucking like mad because can do it guilt free anytime all the time and I like it a lot, not because of cravings (except after the after-dinner stinkie.)

Alrady looking at vv/vw mods, but the only reason I didn't get that from the start is I needed a system both as backup and one I wouldn't cry if something happened to it at work.

You're right, everybody starts somewhere. I started with Bleah--erm, Blu. But it got me started...

Hi, and welcome back! I'm still new here, but I love hearing about couples beginning Vaping together.

I'm a woman who loves my MVP 2.0. The size of the device is just right, IMO, and it works without a hitch. It has a great price point, so I encourage you and GF to consider getting one for her.

Enjoy finding juices and stuff you like! And have fun with it! :)

LOL, just avoided my GF the mistake by pointing to the BLU threads and giving her my old batteries!

Thanks, I have been looking at prices and general views and it sounds like a great APV, expecially when comparing prices. She's still getting used to it and it seems we need to check her nicotine concentration needs (she got a little woozy yesterday). It definitely is on my list of highly potential next purchase.

I wanted to report in on my 8th caping day:

I've had the quitter's flu for the last 5 days and slowed down on vaping since my lungs were overly sensitive and had 1 or 2 more cigarettes a day as that wasn't irritating my lungs as much. Today the vape feels much better, but I'll definitely have to lower the nicotine content as I'm getting the morning cigarette buzz when I vape. I did get some 6mg cherry tobacco so I can keep one tank just for sitting in front of the computer while vaping like mad. I should get some candy so I can spare my atomizers a little.

I had an extreme bout of allergies 4-5 days ago, but it might have been caused by over-vaping menthol and letting it out through my nose. I was basically breathing through the thing all that afternoon :D

I'm still coughing quite a bit but my sinuses started clearing up a bit.

I made up my mind about buying a mod: I want 2: a good one as a main vaping device and a second one for dragon clouds, plus a rebuildable tank. Both will be in the higher price range (100-200$) which could be considered mid-range since you can easily spend 300$+ per part.

I'm going after the Provari as my main vaping mod, but I heard they might be coming up with version 3 soon. Has anyone had some wind of this?? It would be worth waiting a month or so, but I won't be able to hold for too long. I'm still researching which will be my second mod, but that one can wait a bit. I'll start with a good rebuildable tank and see if I really want to go sub or near sub ohm first. Perhaps the Provari V3 will cover all my needs... if I can wait that long. They're getting a new batch soon at the local vape shop and I'm extremely itchy...

Day 11:

I got myself a 10mL bottle of 6mg cherry tobacco 2 days ago and decided to try that as a chain-vaping alternative. The throat hit was way too low compared with 18mg, so I dripped a couple of drops of the 18mg tobacco flavor in the tip and then left the bottle on the counter. It's killing the taste of cherries, but it's been working for me so far today (and compensates for the lack of steeping somehow)

Beautiful day out and I wanted to wash the car for a while, so I went and did that plus 2 layers of wax. I was surprised how much I could move and not be out of breath. I was going so fast at one point that I was breathing through my mouth, but when I stopped I didn't need to catch my breath at all and never felt my heartbeat go up one bit. I have to admit I do quite a bit of hiking and bicycling in the summer, plus some yoga the rest of the year so I'm in better shape than average, but I did have some limitations based on breathing capacity. I can't wait to get on the bicycle and see how that changes. I used to put the snobs with the competition bikes to shame with a dirty old mountain bicycle and my t-shirt flapping in the wind... I want to do that again

I think you mean 6 volts.

Day 12:

After getting out of bed, I took out a smoke from my 4 day old pack (7 left in total). Then I thought back to how good I felt waxing the car yesterday and got discouraged from smoking it. I just took a couple of vapes and took a shower, leaving the stink stick on the desk. Still not a single analog at 8 pm. I do plan on having a couple of glasses of wine soon, so we'll see how that goes. I did vape mostly 6mg today and the only thing I was lacking was a bigger throat hit.

Welcome Torch, I can say with 100% confidance that the best e-cig in the world is the one that helps YOU stop smoking. It's just like any journey, you have to begin somewhere.

Congratulations on quitting. :banana::thumbs:

Thank you

I agree that whatever is at hand and works is definitely the best in the world and that's valid for everything.
