Hey Torch, ChEeCh here. I'm a new member and also started with the v3 ego. What was the new kit you bought again? What's your review of it?
Welcome Cheech,
The new one, the Provari and other parts I'll get to, is not really a kit. The Provari is what is called a mod (short for a term that originally meant modified, but this is factory original stuff. I kinda wonder they keep the name since it comes from the darker times of vaping and is a term borrowed from the flashlight world where people actually modify something.) It is basically like the battery of your eGo, only much bigger, more complex electronics, a display and it uses standard lithium ion batteries (which were originally developed for flashlights) that are not part of the unit (just like you can take out the battery in a flashlight).
This thing is much more powerful than an eGo and can go from 2.9 volts all the way to 6.0 volts. The batteries are not included, but I already had some laying around (you also need a separate charger for those batteries). It is also much more powerful (better electronics would be a better way to put it) and I'm using it at a much lower setting than on the eGo V3 for the same atomizer, same juice and same vape strength/volume. This thing rocks big time! I should be able to go through more than twice the amount of juice with one battery charge while getting a very similar, but much smoother vape. It is a lot bigger, a lot heavier but extremely solid. It don't regret paying more than double I did for an eGo starter kit (and I got the big eGo kit). Obviously, I'll still need the eGo kit for travelling light, but I won't be using anything else at home anymore. You don't necessarily need to spend this much for a great vape, but I learned from my flashlight days and didn't want to end up with 10 different mods, so I just went for the top.
Then there are the tanks that I bought to go along with it: the nautilus and a larger version of the aspire tank that most likely came with your V3 kit. They both work the same way, but on the Nautilus you can adjust the air flow (the size of the hole that lets the air in).
The Provari is the highest rated mod at the moment and also the (or one of the) most expensive standard mods you can buy (then you get into the custom stuff which often comes in limited batches and costs 300$+). I strongly recommend to check pbusardo's reviews on youtube as that will make all of this much clearer and I couldn't even try to come close to his reviews. Just type busardo and the name of whichever part you'd like to see a review of in the youtube search; the only way I know of to miss him is to look for something he hasn't reviewed, which is more than rare.
