Hello new here

Hello I recently found this website today and I must say it is fantastic! I plan on ordering a Eletronic cigarette kit next week and can't wait. I have smoked for 11 years, menthols. I feel electronic cigarettes will finally give me a fighting chance to quit smoking.

I have been doing a lot of reading on the electronic cigarette and found out that Sen. Lautenberg is strongly trying to get them banned in the USA which I find absolutely appauling. I went to his website and wrote him a letter.

My father died from epilepsy back in 2005 and when they conducted his autopsy they found he had emphasima. He smoked for about 30 years 2 packs a day. Ever since I found that out I have tryed to quit smoking more times than I can count.

The electronic cigarette gives me real hope that I can finally become smoke free.

Welcome aboard! Tons of info and help here. It's helped me a bunch. I pretty much gave up quitting until I started ecigs. After smoking for over 10 years, I haven't had one since.

Hello fellow Michi-gander! vaping DOES make quitting cigarettes easier. What else have you ever heard of that has contributed to people quitting that weren't even trying to quit? I personally know of at least 5 people who started vaping just to be able to "smoke" where smoking wasn't allowed and ended up quitting cigs just "cause they liked vaping better. That's amazing! I smoked for 40 years but haven't had a cigarette since I got my first e-cig on Feb. 4th and what's more I haven't even wanted one. If it's helped people that weren't even trying to quit it can certainly help someone who is.

Sorry to hear about your dad too..I lost mine almost 2 years ago now..

But, he's proud of you!! And, it's VERY easy, (for MOST!), to quit smoking and start vaping..it's THAT good!

Have you already placed your order for a kit? If so, MAKE SURE IT'S MANUAL!!!

Welcome to ECF! As you probably already can tell from my fellow vapers that this is a great place to come for answers to any question you may have as well as a great support system. There is a bit of a learning curve when you start and can be frustrating at times. But the more you read up on things the easier it will be.

Welcome to the forum. I believe e-cigs will give you more than a fighting chance. After 21 years of smoking, I quit smoking the day I got my e-cig. It's amazing. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress.

I smoked hard for over 20 years, used to roll my tobacco by hand..
Got my ecigs and honestly haven't looked back!
Be patient and understand, as close to cigarettes as they may be they are still different and there is a slight change to get used to!
Just remember, when you get that craving, grab your ecig not an analog!

I'm sorry, also, about your dad.

My mother died 7 years ago. She had emphysema and a variety of other problems from being a life-long heavy smoker who just plain didn't want to (or couldn't) quit...I SO wish e-cigs had been around then to help her and others, as they are helping all of us now.

Welcome. E-smoking has helped me quit and 5 of my friends have started vaping. There is alot of info here so don't get overwhelmed. Sorry about your dad and good luck! Remember this forum is like a support group it helps to ask questions and share experiences... chances ae someone has experienced the same thing.
