Hello all, I bought a VV V3.0 last Wednesday and I have not had a cigarette since I bought this device. I love the Innokin, but I have to charge it daily so I have been looking for another, I have been thinking about an MVP or a mechanical. The reason I have thrown a mechanical into the mix is not for massive vapor, but possibly government over reach protection. Being new all I ask is that the device would vape on a level of my current device. I have been reading and I read a post that using my clearomizers that are 1.8 to 2.1 ohm is asking for trouble. At any rate thanks for your input and I am looking forward to talking with all of you.

Welcome chipd! Only thing a 1.8-2.1 ohm head would cause trouble for would be a small cig-like battery.

    +1 on the MVP.

No problems with the ohm level coils you mentioned. I use them often, pulse "dry burn" them for extended life, and re-coil and wick them myself when they are dead. I prefer glass over plastic in my tanks and love the new aerotanks (and aerobases) that Kanger has recently come out with.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on quitting. Those are pretty standard resistance levels. You could get a VTR or SVD if you like Innokin products and you want to invest in some seperate batteries. I use Orbtronic 3600 mAh protected 18650's in my mechs. For greater capacity I use my 6,600 and 12,000 mAh USB powerbanks. I could never see powerpacks or lithium batteries being banned or anything.

Thank you for the welcome and advise everyone. I think the person that posted the statement about asking for trouble with higher ohms was referring too mechanical mods. The reason I even gave a thought to mechanical is the batteries I would think, would be harder to tax as a stand alone item. This being said I also read that as these batteries deplete the vape would degrade, so I guess the question would then be how long before a mechanical last before this degradation? I like my Innokin, but I also know that it is disposable and I don't know what the business climate will be when it needs replaced. I guess you can call it a dooms day prep-per instinct here.

to you chipd and welcome to ecf. Isn't it awesome? I wish I had skipped a few steps and started off with a mvp2. Easy, dependable and has a fantastic battery life. You may even want to do some research on a reo. I have finally found what I think will last me the rest of my vaping days because I can't imagine it ever getting any better. There are so many choices to out there. I hope you find what makes you happy. Happy vaping to you.

    This would be my plan:

    1. Buy an MVP2. It's one of the most versatile devices in all of vapordom--it will come in handy over and over again. If you ever have to travel, especially in other countries or places where you need a few days' battery time, it's amazing. Best part, you can get one for like $40 over at 101vape.

    2. Keep your vv3 for going out or as a back up, or sell it or give it away to a friend.

    3. Get a mech mod. You can get some nice cloned mods for $10-$15 (of course you have to get batteries and a charger). A well-cared for stainless steel mech will work for the next thousand years or so--and they're fun.

    4. And get a Kayfun lite plus (or two, or four...). The kayfun atomizer will allow you to learn how to rebuild which is key to getting a good vape in my opinion. Best part, the kayfuns work really well on mechs but also rock on a device like the MVP. Took me about 20 minutes to learn how to build my first coil and I'm an idiot.

    5. Save your money for a while. There are a lot of new higher-end devices emerging that might interest you later as you learn the ropes.

Less than two weeks in and already worried about the vape apocalypse? Lol, me too... I plan to order a mech as an investment in my future just in case. Congrats on quitting!

I guess it's my security and risk management background. :) Thank you, It's just so hard to figure out because I like my vv v3.0 and the mvp looks like a long lasting version of the v3.0 and to me that's a good thing. I guess I will just have to buy both after all they will pay for themselves in the long run.

Thank you, and again thanks to all. I think I am going to get both and as you suggest take my time with the MVP 2 being the first purchase. I will be ordering the MVP next week as I just replaced the drive shaft on my truck and the brakes on the wifes car this week. It's nice not going to get a pack of smokes every day and while there is an initial investment here the juice is not that pricey.

vamo was my first vv i still got her to but once you start building coils the game changes

You folks have to be careful telling me things like this because my OCD kicks in pretty easy. I already have four guitars, two bows, and room full of model and high powered rockets. The last thing my wife wants to see are shelves full of tanks and batteries. :)

You know at this point just starting out I view this journey more of a life changing endeavor then a hobby. I tried many of the cigalike devices and never could quit, but when I picked up this itaste that all changed. I do know at this time I need another device not just for back up, but to have one ready for an entire day. So with this need and the fact that I trust the powers that be about as much as my ex-wife I will for sure have a couple more mods. I will say that I can see this turning into a hobby over the course of time. Baby steps!
