Hi every1,

I have been vaping for 3 days now on a TECC Tornado at first using TECC tobacco 16mg, I didnt enjoy the taste, then onto coffee 16mg. I didnt get much of a throat hit with the coffee e-juice so I mixed it up with the tobacco flavour which worked ok for me. I ordered some e-wicked 'Patti's Wicked mint' 12mg which came this morning, it's going ok and I get a good throat hit. Also got some 'Marlboro' 6mg which I havent tried yet. I haven't had an anolog ... for 3 days now and I am developing a runny nose, cold like symptoms. Also my chest feels a bit weird!
I decided to give this a shot after I tried gum, patches, Zyban, none of which worked for me. I have had 2 pneumothorax in the past (L and R lung) and had operation on both. I also play wind instruments professionally so I really had to stop smoking. It was worrying me! I now hope I stay clean and off the tobacco and I hope to wean myself off the e-nic in time by lowering the dose of e-juice, eventually to 0mg.
I have to say, whilst it isnt exactly like smoking it is good and I am managing to stay off the fags upto now. I really hope this continues!
Thank god for the e-cig!!

Good luck and hang in there! The cold,runny-nose and chest thing are all common. Just don't let it discourage you. I'm just getting over an upper respiratory infection that started about 5 days into quitting completely. My doctor told me that it might come and go for about 6 months until I get all that junk out of my lungs. After 25 years it's not a bad trade off. Hope you achive your goal and get off everything but don't get caught up in the time frame stuff. Enjoy your e-cig and pace yourself, experimenting with flavors and other options will take your mind off of the analogues. You have a big support group here so if your having trouble there is always someone to help.

Hey EuRob, congrats on taking the first steps, you'll probably feel a little sick for a week or so as the tobacco chemicals filter out of your system. Just drink a lot of water, vaping will dehydrate you and more water intake will help flush your system faster. You boys across the pond smoke some pretty strong cigarettes (might want to stay away from the term "fags" I understand what you are saying, but it has a different connotation here in the states...poof) Dunnies, Winnies, and Lucky Duckies pack quite a punch.

Juice are hit and miss, just keep experimenting and trying new vendors eventually you'll find that perfect vape. I smoked a 1-1.5 packs a day for 30 years, I feel your pain. The good news is if you can just make it through the next 2 weeks and purge all the chemicals from your system the process becomes so much easier.

Congrats and welcome to the ECF.

cheers chaps, yeah the term is used over here too but also for smokes. I really think that I will do it and I have too quite honestly. I spent a few months on a chest ward in hospital and seeing patients dying from smoke related ailments was not nice. I did stop for 2 months afterwards but when down the pub and with mates, feeling ok again I was soon back on, what a numpty! Anyway, I am determined this time and I think I have come across a solution!

congratulations and welcome! It's not uncommon to have a cold when you quit smoking analogs.I agree with the other advice, find a flavor you like and drink lots of water. If you're hanging out with your mates and head to the pub, make sure your batteries are charged. Even after year I still do that. My friends smoke, I vape. All I can tell you is, it gets better and better every day. Happy vaping!
