Hey everyone! Pack a day camel menthol light (silver now) smoker for 12 yrs. Tired of putting all the harmful chemicals in my body but not ready to stop the "act" of smoking. Ive ordered a Maxx from absolutelyecigs, should be here in 7-10 business days and couple of different flavors from tastyvapor and V4L. I think I went with around 16mg nic, hopefully this will be enough to get me off the analogs. I'm glad i found this forum, been lurking around for two weeks reading everyting, as i was almost going to pull the trigger on one of those radio ads for e-cigs.

Anyways, couple of questions... I do enjoy a rare dessert but i dont really have much of a sweet tooth, i'm much more into getting a second hamburger, etc.. than a piece of pie. i saw that some vendors sell meat flavors like roast beef, chicken, has anyone tried these? weird flavor to vape i know, but what does it really taste like?

the maxx kit i ordered comes with 2 attys and 2 batts, 10 blank carts and 1 cone. how long should this set-up last before i need to order spare attys, batts, etc... i assume im going to smoke this like i smoke analogs.
im not usually near a computer during the day so hopefully two charged batteries can last me from 7ish am to 5ish pm

anyways, great forum, im still learning and ive been a member of other forums in the past so i know first off always use the search button.

thanks for all the help in the future!:toast:

Welcome to the Vaping world and ECF.

That looks like an Ego / Tornado.

2 of those batteries should last you all day no problem.

Get a couple spare atomizers NOW.
Better to have and not need, then to need and not have.
You might also look into 510 Cartomizers, tons of vendors sell them (litecigusa.net for one off top of my head)

Should be a long time before you need new batteries though.

welcome dumkopf! I've read you can get 20-24 hours of use from those batteries. Hopefully thats the case for you. 16mg I think should be just fine for you. I notice I vape more than I smoked, so be careful not to over do it and get a headache. I now vape a fairly low nic level of 11mg, because i vape constantly. I started with 18mg.

I would go with the time domino gave for your batts, she would know better than me.

I hear you on the "act" part....that's what always brought me back. Could quit the nicotine just fine.

FWIW, I smoked about a pack a day (camel menthols), and got 24 mg juice. Throat hit is a little much for me with the 510. I would think 16 mg would be about perfect, but ymmv

whats the pros of cartomizers vs atty+carts? i know how they are physically different but why is one better than the other?

from what I have heard, cartoz are easier, plus you get a new atty with each one. You don't have to worry about polyfill, or carrying around extra attys and carts, you just carry an extra carto or two and you're set. Convenience is the main thing.

Welcome dumkopf, I was a pack a day smoker and tried to start with 18mg juice and found I still had cravings. I bumped it up to 24mg and the cravings went away. I'm back down to 18mg now. have been for a month and plan on going down to 16mg the next time I mix a batch of juice. I quit smoking the day I got my first ecig. Best of luck to ya.

I will say that so far, I haven't found a cartomizer that I like. They don't give the flavor or the vapor that I get from regular cartridges or dripping. There are advantages and disadvantages to each method. by all means, try them, they certainly are more convenient and hold enough juice to last a good long while, I just haven't gotten the experience I like while vaping them.

Dripping gives the purest flavor and hardest hit, but it can be a hassle while driving (I try and still am not too comfortable that I'm not going to get in a wreck because of it) and the throat hit with dripping can be too harsh for me, but it does produce the best vapor of any method I have tried.

cartomizers hold more liquid. I drive a LOT and don't like to drip and drive. Plus cartomizers are easy. Fill and go. No need to carry a lot of stuff with you out of the house.

That said, after 5 months of vaping mainly cartomizers (I had both an 808 and a 510- with adaptors to make it all interchangeable) and loving them I'm suddenly smitten with dripping on my big 5v beast of a mod.
