Hi!

I'm new to the forum and about 8 months into vaping. My PV is a bolt black chrome with a metal horn switch, It's already tarnished and I need help in repainting it to recover it's original luster. Anyone there who can help me? A step by step guide with pictures would be stellar!

Sorry, if you wanted nickle, copper, silver, or gold plating that can be done with electroplating fairly easy. you can search youtube for this. As for chrome plating, I believe this is a little more expensive and more complicated for the average DIYer.

Yup, I agree. You deserve a new PV. Can't just be vaping on something full of scratches LOL. Just think of your bolt the way I do my scratched oak dinning table. Every scratch is a little part of my kids childhood. Every scratch on your Bolt is a reminder of how far you have come.Oh and thinking about it, I have your kittens twin LOL.

At most art supply stores, craft stores, or even auto parts outlets, you can buy crome sheets with adhesive all ready applied. Just cut it to size, and stick it on. I did this to some of my early SmokeTips, as no one in Iowa had any idea what an e cig was, and the chrome stopped most from argueing about the fact that it was a battery. Looked darn good to. A place called Metro Decals on the web sells a burl wood vinal that I've seen on some folks mods around here and it looks amazing. Just like a wood mod at pennies on the dollar. They may even have the chrome stuff too.

You could look into getting a skin for your battery. You could even hit up cafepress and make your own design. You'll have to trim and cut a button hole, but it'd be "yours".

I agree - skinning it with automotive vinyl might be your best bet than trying to repaint it. Black chrome is really hard to achieve, and the process could screw up your PV (haha, tried to candy apple a laptop once. Never did get that thing back together again.). Metro Decals has a lot of cool ones. I think they may even have black chrome!
