Just checking in to introduce myself to the forum and say Hi to fellow vapors :)
I am an Australian.
I have been vaping for about 11 days, occasionally puffed on an analogue when my batteries have been flat but I am committed to quitting.
I initially purchased two Joye 510 kits one in auto and one manual (with the Flu tobacco juice) from a Chinese supplier.
My daughter has been using the manual while I myself have been using the auto.
I cant say I am too impressed with my unit, have already had one battery fail and looks like an atomiser is failing and a charger did not work properly from the start, wish I had brought a more expensive model in the beginning, but never mind I am ready to try the Riva now, besides the 510 did get me started on seriously quitting so that was a plus :)
Daughter is happy with her unit and well on the road to quitting !
With the money saved on cigarettes I can gradually upgrade over time as I learn all the tricks of the trade, this is where the forum is an invaluable resource invaluable for me, I have a steep learning curve ahead.
Thanks to all forum posters for your contributions !

Was it a Joye 510 or a knockoff? I recommend Joye and manual batteries. The manuals are sealed on the threaded end so juice can't get in. And re clones - some substandard parts around.

I like my 510 but I like it best with a cartomizer (standard Boge soft-cap cartomizers for 510 because the Joye ones need a syringe). Nice drag with those cartos. A carto should last about a week, maybe longer.

I recommend the PCC so you can recharge your batteries on the go. At home and at work I use charging cables with 4-port 2amp USB to AC adapter (I can charge 4 batteries of different ecigs at once on it)

BTW - there is a Europe subforum here. When you get 5 posts/replies and wait about an hour you'll be able to post there.

Welcome!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Have you tried trading with your daughter and using the manual battery? You don't have to take as long of a drag to get the same vapor. Just an idea. Also what nicotine level did you get? If it's only 12mg, you may want to step it up to 18mg (or if youre using 18 try 24).

The Riva is basically a eGo. I recomend getting the 510 model, because you can drip with your 510 attys. You may want to look into a eGo-T (Tank) atty for it instead of carts. You get the best flavor and throat hit from dripping (so a drip tip would be a good idea too). Yes there's lots to learn, but you're started now. Any questions you have, ask around and you should always get someone with some advice for you.

I was first when I started this, but that was at 11:08. lol anyways, welcome and good luck with the vaping!

Welcome the forums!

I'll second getting the 510 cartomizers -- good strong flavor. Just to clarify, a carto can be refilled and reused for a week or two: One pre-filled carto is not equal to one week of vaping. LOL :)

You can use the 510 cartomizers on a Riva510 (which is likely the version that you ordered).

I dont believe it is a generic, but it could be even though it was marketed as a Joye on the website.
I recommend Joye and manual batteries.
I have noticed the popularity of the manuals, and my daughter has had no problems with her manual cig though it was her charger that was faulty from out of the box.
I tried the manual however with Osteo and carpal tunnel I have numb fingertips and it is painful to press the switch.
I may be able to train myself to use the thumb on the button, I reckon I will have no choice at the end of the day because from what I can tell they just don't sell the autos in any models other than the 510, and I am seriously considering purchasing the Boge LEO, this is the reason I have delayed buying a replacement cig because I cant find anything I like with Auto battery option.
I recommend the PCC so you can recharge your batteries on the go.
PCC ?

The Leo kit I have chosen/considering comes with a USB Cable so I will be able to charge it on the computer :)

Yes I read that on here, I will be joining the Aussie sub/forum as soon as I qualify :)

Its amazing how much better the electronic ones after you use them there is actually no desire to revert to the nasty smelly analogues, I can pretty much guarantee that once you start you will be off and running and wont look back !
Thats been my experience with my first electronic cig and the one or two of the analogues Ive smoked have been disgusting and abhorrent to me, my daughter has had the same experience.
Good luck in your journey :)
Don't give up. plenty of choices out there. x
I wont be giving up on this I am fully comitted to finding what works for me :)

Lol Hi, love your nickname :)
The Riva is basically a eGo. I recomend getting the 510 model, because you can drip with your 510 attys.
Well the 510 got me off to a good start, despite the limitations, it gave me the hint of possibility concerning quitting without the anticipated pain/craving :)
I have noticed the drip trip thingies but have to study how they work as yet, how to use them etc will definately be trying them, .
You may want to look into a eGo-T (Tank) atty for it instead of carts
Also what nicotine level did you get? If it's only 12mg, you may want to step it up to 18mg (or if youre using 18 try 24).
I purchased the 24 MG, figured I would start from the top and work my way down the scale over time :)
I have been using the flu cured tobacco flavor which wasnt too bad but not too good, I am really looking forward to using some nice juice in my cigs, so many lovely flavors !
Any questions you have, ask around and you should always get someone with some advice for you.
Welcome the forums!
Absolutely, I am here communicating with those who know what I need to know to succeed in my journey :)
Thanks for the welcome :)

I havent even looked at Cartomizers yet and still unfamiliar with their use and operation.
I am beginning to realise the potential of mix and match involved, the terminology is still a bit confusing to me, but I am getting there.
I will start off with the Bogue Leo kit and after using it for a week or so, then purchase all the bits and pieces, accessories available,
keeping the Joye 510 as an alternative option rather than investing in accessories specific to the model at this stage, depending on how the Leo works out.
I am hedging my bets here :)

Thought I would check back in case there was a reply to my comment. I just wanted to clarify something about my post, when I said the 510 model I meant the Riva that is compatible with the 510 atty, not the 901 model. (So the Riva 510 not Riva 901) If you go to liberty-flights.com you will see what I mean. I've not used any 901 attys, but as far as my knowledge goes, it's easier to drip with the 510.

I would not recomend dripping with your joye 510 auto batt as it will most likely result in flooding the battery and ruining it. Auto batts have a hole in them so they can work (otherwise they wouldn't work), manual batts are sealed so they can't be ruined by dripping.

Ahh okay, I understand what you are saying.
I was reading the library thread here in regards dripping and checked my auto for the hole and noticed it there so I discounted dripping for my auto, but I wasn't aware that the manual was sealed, I will pass that info on to my daughter who uses the manual.
Thanks for your input :)
I will also check out Liberty Lights stuff too !
