Hi everyone! I'm new here. Been doing lots of read up here and sometimes vaporsforum. Started vaping about 3-4mths ago. Manage to stop analogs totally after 1st week of vaping.

I must say the experience is positive one except for the short period of time when withdrawal kicks in (lasted for about a week). Love the fact that i don't have the lingering smell of analogs and an oily face anymore.

After trying several setups, my 2 most commonly used are smoore xpower batt+adapter+510-t atty/transaprent cart OR ego-t batt+510-t atty/transparent cart. I got cartos too but i prefer the vaping feel of atties.

Thanks for the welcome guys. It will take a lot of trial and error to find your own perfect vape. And ECF is a great place to be with the enormous wealth of info and shared experiences.

I'm with you on the withdrawal thing. Especially when I'm hammered. I'm at the point now where I haven't had an analog in a while, so my lungs are healing themselves. Cough up time.

Congratz to you for ditching analogs too. Don't give up if the cravings get to you again. I still feel good sniffing 2nd hand smoke from smoker friends. But luckily, picking up analogs again don't come across my mind at all after surviving through the withdrawal which hit hard. I smoke 2 packs of 20 malboro menthol daily before i try to ditch it. Almost for 20 years.

Same here Syn,

4 months this week without an analog, pretty excited.
No one can believe it,I was the last of the Mohicans (smokers)In my circle.
Longest I haven't "smoked" in 20+years.(1-1.5 packs Newport/rez brand Seneca menthol daily)

Jumped from a cheap 401 starter kit to a 5v carto modbox.
The box does appear a bit dorky, but everyone gets used to it quick.

Ive spent about $300-400 trying different stuff/vendors to find what suits me.

I'm pretty happy now,at about at about 2-3 cartos and 10-15 ml juice weekly on a diy vv mod box.

Been lurking around this board for awhile I don't know where id be without it,invaluable info at ECF.

What DO you do with all stuff you don't like???
How do I find local groups/vendors???

So you were smoking analogs and vaping simultaneously? How did you decide when to vape and when to smoke or was it a matter of where you could and couldn't? I am currently new to vaping but have a system I am very happy with, but I am still smoking my analogs for now. I picked a quit date but am wondering if I shouldn't be cutting back the analogs by adding the vaping instead of waiting. Thanks for your thoughts on this and a super CONGRATS to you on going strictly vape.

Hi Ghostlarke. At the beginning, i took up vaping with one thing in mind, that is to stop analogs totally. I've been trying to quit smoking countless times but wasn't successful. Then i learn about ecig and was like, "oh, this might be it!".

My initial intention was to stop analogs immediately after laying my hands on ecig. It is hard as you know. So i vaped and smoked simultaneously (one at a time in rotation, sometimes both together) plus using the analog reduction technique. Wasn't going well that way as i actually crave for more analogs if i do both together.

After a week, i decided to take a big leap of faith and went cold turkey on analogs. I got hit with a mental struggle, like something is missing in my life because i'm so used to smoking for almost 20 years. But vaping heavily all day helps kill off the cravings well, just that the mental habit part requires quite a bit of self talk and encouragements.

Then comes the physical part, the withdrawals. It happened to me twice, one week after i stopped analogs and another after one month. 24/7 running nose, feeling fuzzy and light headed like your mind is in outer-space. Couldn't concentrate well on things that i'm doing at that moment.

Pressed on with my heavy vaping for relief and voila! The cravings for analogs are drifting further and further till i don't have the urge to buy a pack of cig anymore. I got many friends who smoke, and when they do, i still like to smell their 2nd hand smoke. But no more urge to light one up myself. I don't need to vape as heavily too compared to the beginning stage.

Well, that's my story. I think choosing a quit date is a good idea, but you'll probably experience something similar to mine when you stop analog altogether. You can try vaping more, it will help relief to a certain degree, not totally tho. What nic strength are you using? It will make a difference. I'm a heavy smoker before, 24mg is the right level for me during the struggle. Now i only do 18mg. Planning to cut to below 10mg after a year.

Hi Syn007,

Our stories sound very similar. I too am trying to quit analogs and see this as a viable alternative.

I was fortunate that we have a shop within driving distance so I went down and actually spoke with one of the owners. She spent over an hour with me asking me questions and answering my questions. It was a very good experience and for anyone who lives in SW Florida I would highly recommend the drive over if you are considering vaping (Vapin' in the Cape, Welcome to Vapin' in the Cape - Online prices...local convenience ). Anyway, I ended up with what I feel is a very good system for me. She took into consideration the type of smoker I was, what I wanted out of vaping, the TH I was used to with analogs, etc. We settled on the 24mg liquid since I am a pretty heavy smoker. I am sure I will soon be stepping down to the 18mg, but certainly wanted something strong enough that when those urges rear their ugly heads I can have a hope of combatting them :)

Good luck to you and hopefully this is the answer we seek to break our dependance on analogs!!!

Pretty much the same story too cept it took me about 3 weeks to kill analogs completely, analogs also tasted like crap after heavy vaping,

the 401 just wasn't cutting it,3 batteries just wasnt enough so I bought the 5v DIY+cartos.
Cartos are also maintenance free

I didnt set a quit date and actually carried one last analog in a pack for 2 weeks, the pack fell apart and the cig was all crushed and bent from carrying it around,so actually its been almost 5 months with one analog.

I count my quit date from that last cig.

Very weird to not have to make that detour to the rez about every other Tuesday.

I started vaping at 36mg,now Im down to 24mg but I still order a bottle of 36mg for the occasional craving. My next order will be mostly 18mg juice with probably a 24mg and 36mg for kicks,I still like the occasional morning blast.

Ahh, you guys are in the same path of planning on reduced nic intake eventually. Yes, those 5v mods will definitely add a punch to your vaping. My latest toy is the Variable Voltage EGO. Still contemplating on getting a provari. Hesitating because i'm really spending too much in a short time.

Nonetheless, wish all success in your journey to a better health!
