Hi folks.

Pack a day smoker for 14 years. Never managed to stay quite more than a few weeks, and each time it was a misery.

I've been completely tobacco free now for 12 days now. And it's hard, but it's not awful.

I picked up a vape 13 days ago.

So, yeah, there's that!

Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

What are you using to vape with?

A Fuchai with an Arctic V8 mini in the car and at home, and a Micro Volt in my pocket (which I absolutely love, and hope doesn't fall prey to the charging issues this model seems to have)!

I did considered the Micro Volt but with all the new FDA deeming regulations I have elected to buy ONLY replaceable battery mods (going forward).

Went with the eLeaf Pico instead.

The pico looks pretty great - if the Volt dies, I may switch over!

18650 cells, no.

• Once your internal battery dies your mod will no longer work and you will have to replace it.
  
• A mod that uses an external cell will still work if you replace the 18650 cell (which are not subject to the regulations).

The deeming regulations (as they currently stand) will throw the whole industry back to 2007 (once implemented in 2 years). 99.9% of the vape products we currently use will no longer be able to be sold unless they get FDA approval. Expensive/time consuming process with no guarantee of getting approved. No new products can be introduced come August 2016.

Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you here. That's a good setup you have there. I find I always chain vape in the car. It also was the hardest thing for me to quit smoking because I would get cravings while I was out running errands, and there was always a convince store near by full off Camel's --Just like BT likes to keep it. Good luck on your journey.

1000 times this. Not smoking in the car was so incredibly hard for me, pre-vape.
