Hello friends. I need your help.

I just got a 4nine mod from a nice seller in the forums. It looks brand new. 8^) BUT I'm having some big problems. The mod keeps auto-firing no matter what size battery I use or which atty. I have tried Efest and AW 18350, 18490, and 18650 (all button top like they recommend). I have tried some igo-ws, kayfuns, and an APO rda and no atty will sit flush on top without auto-firing.

What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Thanks

So after playing around with this more, the only way I can get this thing to sorta work is if I remove the magnet and just have the battery right on the switch. It makes for a very long throw to fire. Something is off.

Here is a picture of the magnet that is now removed and when inserted makes the mod auto fire.

Is your battery floating over switch before you put cap on? Your atomizer pin could also be too long for button tops.

I use flat top 18650&18350 and button top 18490 in mine. As long as your insulator is good, flat tops are fine.

Be careful with short pin atomizers. I shorted a battery recently throwing one on there I forgot was really short.

I also recommend cleaning the switch with white vinegar once a week...or put some no-oxide grease..:) had a major brain fart first few weeks using this mod.. button tarnishes easily.:)

Is your Battery floating in the Tube before installing the Top?
Yes - see next question
No - Flip magnet spacer - adjust magnet in spacer, if possible, for additional clearance

If you install the top with NO atty attached - Does the switch work(move)?
If no - Check that switch is fully inserted in mod - Flush to bottom
If Yes - inspect Atomizer length

I'm having the exact same issue. I have tried everything. The battery (Sony VCT5, I don't have any button tops) is floating, the battery poles are opposite facing so that they're resisting, and I've tried all of my attys (Tobh, Patriot, Stillare, Plume Veil, Magma, Kayfun)... Nothing at all. Retired to the shelf until further notice.

Can't make heads or tails of the way some people post.

4Nine is one of the simplest mods you can ask for. Screw an atty onto the Hybrid Cap.
Look at the Atty's 510 once seated.
If it barely clears(and the center pin is exposed properly) A Button Top battery should run the device.
Connect and test carefully to insure button movement.

IF the Atty's 510 is protruding through the Hybrid Cap, then you likely need a Flat top to reduce height and allow the switch to function.

If you don't have the right Batteries, But them. Don't blame the Mod :D
